Best value for Stars FPPs?

Just wondering what to spend my FPPs on at Stars.

I recently played a few of the 2 table SNGs for qualifying into the Sunday $100K. 210 FPPs to play and the top 6 qualify. Qualifying is pretty easy...lots of bad players. :)

If you qaulify you can either play in the $100K or unregister for 11 T$...which I use to play SNGs.

So essentially I'm converting 210 FPPs to $11....

Are there better values out there for the FPPs or is this one pretty good?

Thanks...

The 5400fpps 10 man sng to qualify for the sun mill seems ok value to me. 4 Qualify, unregister then $215 :D. I have had 3 attempts, and qualified twice. I then sold the T$ for 98% of their value.

Bored so I got my calculator out...

Converting 210 FPPs to $11 = 19 FPPs/dollar

Converting 5400 FPPs to $215 = 25 FPPs/dollar

Converting 3,000,000 FPPs to 1 Porche (MSRP $59100) = 51 FPPs/dollar

But the car is a guarentee so you have to take that into account...

although qualifying in the 210 FPP SNG is pretty close to a guarentee.

(Man....I must be really bored) :)

(edit)

jagsti, I didn't realize I could sell my $T...is that an option through PS or do you do it outside PS and make a transfer to the buyer?

I've only bought clothes with them, I have a sweet work out jacket!!! Never tried the SnG's, I personally don't think there worth it. You work about a week to gain enough fpps to win $11, doesn't seem worth it in my opinion

you have to take your ROI in those tournaments into account, you realize that, i hope. because the real cost of a sunday mil ticket is 13500 FPPs

I spend mine too fast, or earn them too slow.

I use the 70 FPP 10 seat sit and go. 1st place gets a $10 + 1 ticket. How does that compare with the 210/6 places ratio?

depends on your ROI

if you get 1st every time it is about 7fpp/dollar, which is great.

unfortunately I don't consistently get first place...

That's why I like the 18 player 210fpp because it is very easy to qualify in the top 6...my sample is too small to mean anything, but so far i'm 4/4. If you play tight and wait you will usually only need to take down a couple of pots and you are ITM.

Even the best player in the world won't place EVERY time. And even if he could you have to consider that since he is the best player he could be earning money in another tournament as well. Things like the cash bonus and the Porche don't use up time. A good player could be spending his time on another tournament and even if it's not as profitable, the opportunity cost (stolen from economics) is really what we should be looking at. You could play the other tournament and get the cash bonus but playing the tournament takes time, especially on that scale.

Let's say the 210 one is 100% guaranteed and takes about an hour. To use them all for what you could get the Porsche for it'd take 14285 hours which even if you treated it as a full time job (40 hours/week, 50 weeks/year) would take over 7 years to complete. Instead you could buy the Porsche and continue to win money and in that 7 years would probably win enough FPPs to get another Porsche lol.

btw the Supernova cash bonus is 66 FPPs/dollar

Ive had my eye on the RPG for 750,000. Nothing beats winning a free rocket propelled gernade launcher just for playing poker.

lol I was just talking in general, mainly I'd be comparing cash bonuses (the platinum and supernova) to FPP tourneys. Even though the FPPs would offer me a better return, it would take time where I could be earning even more FPPs and hopefully a bit of profit :).

Well, I spent my first 2k in a book that just been shipped :)

Then I also do the 210 FPP S&G and qualified 2/4 ... which seems not to be so good now that you are all bragging :(

What if I 20-table the 210 SNGs while orbitting the Earth in a rocket ship traveling at the speed of light?

If my calculations are correct I should have enough to by 2 Porsches by the end of the week...and that's only cashing in 20% of the games.

Of course, I'll still need to save enough FPPs for that rocket ship....

:D

if you traveled at the speed of light you would become light and would no longer need a porsche

Me too. The last time I checked I was winning about 20% of the time.

The secret to this game is to lay low for the first ten or fifteen hands unless you have the absolute nuts. After that, the allin feeding frenzy is pretty much over and you can start to play poker.

I have cashed twice in the 70 point 10-man (50% ITM) and several times in the 210 points.. Seems a fair way to cash points..

The ten man, half the field donk each other out in ten minutes...

I hadn't even thought about trying to spend my points this way before.

I do have to factor in time considerations and how it alters what i'm doing but I just played a couple of the 2-table, 210 fpp tourneys and placed in both. In the second one I only played two hands and folded the rest of the time! (I played an AA and a checked to BB that flopped a boat). Won big pots with both. Got to sit there and watch them donk each other out for the most part for the rest of it.

It's kinda fun watching the guy with A6o reraise all in over a raiser and an allin-reraiser because..well..he has an ACE!

Overall the play was horrid, play tight and straight up and I'd think making the money (top 6) isn't that hard to do fairly often.

Not sure how to factor in the time factor and the fact you aren't earning fpp's /money from playing ring games into the equation but 420 fpp + ~1 hour = T $22 for me today. Had a couple of cash tables open at the same time too and made a few dollars/points over there as well.

best value for ps fpps

I like the 70 fpp tournys. For every 10 players that enter 1 gets a ticked worth 11 $TW imo thats the best bang for your buck
