When I play cash games, I find they are usually softer weekends and evenings, when there are more casual players online. No big surprise there.

In regard to MTTs, I have discovered in the last two or three months that it really helps my results to focus on one or two daily tournies and play those as often as possible.

Previously, I would just play whichever upcoming MTT looked attractive, and would flit from one site to another with no real plan.

Playing the same tourney regularly has allowed me to get really familiar with the structure and pace, and to build up a body of notes on the other regular players.

The last point is especially important. It isn`t until you start doing this that you realise just how often the same handful of names reach the late stages. These are the dangerous players, and it is a big help to know their styles in advance.

Since I have been doing this, my MTT results (which were not shabby before) have stepped up another level, and I am final tabling noticeably more often.

I find that playing between the hours of 9pm-1am to be most profitable.. Anything after 2am seems to be really difficult for some reason.

Also during the day is awful.

Same for me. On Friday to Sunday nights is when I run into a lot of really really bad calling stations and people that play junk and get lucky.

I find it's very hard to play people that don't know how to fold, turns into poker bingo more often than not.

This is very good advice IMO. Especially if you can play a good $5+ buyin tourney so the field is not over 800 or so. Obviously depends if its GTD or not, but having less people and playing daily really gives you notes on players and you can really adapt.

I track all of my stats and recently broke them down by days of the week. My best days are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. My worst day is Sunday. During the week I typically play after 10 PM Eastern, on the weekends I'll play anywhere between 10 AM Eastern to 5 PM Eastern.

The time of day that you play definitely makes a difference as far as how well you can do and more importantly, what kind of players you will play against. If you play during the day...you will find more online pros and players that tend to play more seriously for money. In the evening however (after 7pm)...you will find a lot of casual players that just go on the sites for fun and are not grindign it out every day on the tables. Therefore, you will find easier games in the evening during the week and almost any time on the weekend. I play at PokerRoom almost every day and it is easily noticable to see the differences in play during the day as opposed to the weekend.

My most profitable days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and the times are usually mid-afternoon. My absolute worst time, if you can call it that, is when I have been drinking.

Being drunk is -EV.

I agree with a lot of you, most of my wins come after 9pm, and very few in the day.

I think it`s because a high % of people playing are high or drunk or at least on the way to being which must impair their judgement.

BTW the UK has relaxed pub\club drinking laws they can open 24 hours now if they wish (few do though)

I always do best on Bodog from 9PM-1AM eastern time. Many times during the day they seem to only have more expierianced players in the SNG's I play. But at night I think I get a lot of noobs just fooling around.

I am a noob myself FYI. But I do pretty well for not knowing how to play well.
