Hey, so I have read a few books on poker and I was just curious if there are any good ones that someone can rocommend?
I have read the super system...I have to say, it is a very outdated type of book. But I did learn a great deal from it when I first started the game.
I dont like games other than nl and pl holdem poker...so most of the book wasnt usefull for me. only a portion of the book is dedicated to holdem.

Can anyone suggest informative holdem books? Thanks!

Ace on the River by Barry Greenstein. It's a very good book that focus on all the different aspects of poker so, it's good compliment to the strategy heavy poker books out there.

So regarding Super/System: A Course in Power Poker*by Doyle Brunson, which book is better to read version 1 or number 2? I downloaded number 2 thinking it was the first version or are they the same book just different editions? Or is number 2 a continuation or the first book?

To my knowledge, there is very little that changed. I wonder if he made the book a little more politically correct--maybe they removed some of the inherently sexist undertones...
Sklansky's book, the theory of poker is excellent.

Treat You Poker Like a Business by Dusty Schmidt and The Course by Ed Miller are good reads. Not much as far as starting hands and charts, but both are a good read IMO.

a lot of books are outdated such as super system, i haven't read any new books in a while.. or videos last thing i have watched was black rains grinding the micros, i have a lot of catching up to do.. black rains videos was very good, ryan fee's 6 max guide was good, and dan harringtons tournament book i personally feel is outdated

Yes!

It was a more primitive game back then, but Genghis Khan had a book. In it, he describes what he'd tell opponents he'd do to them if they beat him. Very insightful and sure to elicit more folds!!!
