I ahve a few people who I now have 1000's of hands on, and I never chat.

Today I had a guy who I have about 4500 hands on. He is pretty decent, and we have a history of trying to trap each other with sets, I have stacked his AA and he mine. We pretty much stay out of each others way, and we get into battles over the fish now and then.

Today I was BTN and he was SB. I had AA, folds to me, I 3x, he 9x, I make it 2:50 (10nl) and he calls. Flop some crap. He checks, I bet pot, he shoves, I call. He will c/r his sets and c/r on a bluff. He has to be as worried about sets here as I am, as we tread lightly vs each other (normally) with only TP. He flips over AA.......

So I gave a LOL in chat ( I really NEVER chat) He loled back, and I have never seen him chat before.. I said its about time to say hi after so many hands. He says he had his KK vs KK pre about 15 minutes ago. So we exchange a few kind words and then I 3 bet his EP raise on another table he folds and that was that. lol.

I have a few players I respect and see a lot. I was just wondering if anyone ever gets acquainted with regs they play a lot.

Generally regular players speak little chat in the poker room at least was the impression i had when I played with some, but never saw any of them lose respect or swearing in chat, the impression is that they are well reserved this is just my opnion .... :)

I wouldn't say I am friends with them but there are some who play at the same tables often and we give a thumbs up GG or other salutation appropriate for the moment.More of a friendly respect.

Quite a few familiar players that I'm frequently up against in STTs. If it's someone who I've played with lots and they seem to understand the game we'll generally shoot each other a GG or WP at the end if we are heads-up. Otherwise not much time for chatting.

I rarely chat on poker tables. Not because I do not like or respect the guys at the table but just because it distracts me. I prefer to stay focused although the way things have gone this week I might have been better not being focused.
Evereyone is different at a poker table just as they are in real life.

Being friendly to regs is really good IMO - it helps create a table atmosphere where the more recreational players are happier to play because there is some chat/banter going on in the chat box and it improves their enjoyment.

the one thing that annoys me more than anything is anyone who berates a bad player

agree with pasc, i have quite a few of the regs as friends on skype too, which is good to get opinions on hands if you respect their games. Oh and cafeman makes fun of me because i had lots of nice comments off my friends on my PTR :D

Its not uncommon for most folks to play multiple tables/tourneys. That leaves little time to chat not to mention alot of us cant read the small text in the chat windows. Its heck getting old lol.

Happy card playing all!

I try not to get too friendly after I met someone playing in a casino. We sometimes would go eat lunch together. That all changed when he went all in and I called with flush and he only had trips. He was very upset that I did not fold so he could have the pot. So all that to say I will be cordial but friends and gambling/money doesn't mix.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in this group. WE aren't playing poker to make friends really are we?

I do play a couple of CC members who I am quite friendly with here and on skype. We never chat or say "hi" or anything, and I can testify that they are quite agro towards me. I am towards them as well. One was immediatly to my right and he left after a couple of raises and c/r from me. He then sent me a skype and said he can find better tables.lol. But then a couple of days later I was on his right and he had his fun with me, and I left. We have a friendly skype chat after beating each other up in game, and I like that.

When I was grinding away at 8-tabling 10nl pre-black friday, I ran into a few CC'ers.. they were really the only ones that I talked to at the table, lol.
