There are very few things that make me go off, but this trend of Banning Internet poker has torqued me to no end, and it has finally caused me to act. When the State of Washington banned online poker, I had enough and I know you all have to. I read all your blogs and comments on the subject.

Now I respect the PPA and all, in fact I am a member. However they do not represent my thoughts on the subject.

I simply don't believe the Government of the USA has any business at all involved in anything pertaining to the internet. The internet belongs to the people of the world and no government has any right to interfere. I believe in our constitution and when the government gets involved in places they not needed, they deny me my individual rights to freedom, liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. They then become an oppressive government and the constitution was created by our forefathers to prevent this from happening. We should not be fooled by this idea of regulation and consumer protection, a job creator and revenue creator. As a healthy thing, It is not. It is a systematic attempt to rob you of your freedoms one by one. And expand government
robbing you of your hard earned money. I only need the government to do two things for me, keep me safe and provide infrastructure. Then stay out of my way so I can pursue the American dream.

With those thoughts in view, here is what I have done.
The new Lieutenant Governor of New York is a friend of mine, he is the former Mayor of our city and before that the police chief. He and I are golfing buddies and belong to the same Golf and Country Club. We sat in the lounge at the club during the end of season festivities and had a frank and open discussion on the subject of online poker. (we have hosted games at the club) shhhh don't tell anyone. Here is what he told me to do.

Write every representative and legislative body you can think of, from local all the way up to federal level. And that is what I have done. I started with the state House of Representatives and the speaker of that House, and all the committee chairs and reps and both sides of the isle. I then went to the State Senate and did the same. Included the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor and made sure my local reps got a copy here at the local office level as well. Next was the federal level, and I sent a copy to the same branches as in the State. Even the President and Vice President. Thank God for NYS.gov and USA.gov LOL for all the info.
Was it a lot of work? Yes, but I felt it was time to get involved on a individual level and not just let the PPA do my work for me. No formed organization can represent my thoughts better than myself. In my letter I made it clear that my Individual rights are universal human rights and can not be regulated by any government. To be careful not to overstep the boundaries of the constitution and what I have asked from them as a voter and they are to represent my interest, being servants of their constituents. That we voted for them to serve us not rule over us.

If you are so inclined please take one day out of your life, sit down and write to those trying to deny your rights to freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, To play a game we all enjoy. The American Dream.

Should I run for office? LOL :)

Even though I totally agree, I do not think anything will result from writing these folks. Emails are totally a waste. I would however vote for you if I had the chance because you make sense and logical and pro-poker. lol
Good post, Wally

I think you'd save yourself alot of time and energy and just vote for the people that support your positions. That is the only thing those idiots understand. Just vote.

Once the government can figure out how to make a profit, and the casino lobbyists give up because companys like Harrah's are getting a slice of the pie you will see net gambling become legal...just like marijuana....if you cant give the people jobs and a brighter future give them weed and gambling and maybe the gamblers and pot smokers can bail out the 10 trillion in debt were in...end of rant./

They are already getting a slice of the pie while lobbying to keep us from playing online poker. Caesars Entertainment Corp (formerly Harrah's Interactive Entertainment) already has agreements for three gaming websites in the United Kingdom and has expanded to Italy. They are also looking to expand further in Europe. Nevada gaming regulators know of the company's European partnerships.

Ain't capitalism great!!!!
