As some of you may know Chris Ferguson was been attempting to create a 0-10k bankroll from scratch. What I would like to know is if anyone else is attempting this, maybe even some of you have done this? I plan on depositing on Full Tilt sooon, but till then I'm still working on a bankroll from scratch

Hey my buddy has done this and more. He started from a free roll and now has over $53,000.00 in winnings. It only took him 5 months to do it.
I just have to say that anything is possible. I would definitely try as long as you can to make money in the freerolls, because if you have trouble with them you might have the same problems with real money. I mean I have very poor success in real money games I bubble a lot, but great luck in the freerolls.
GL on your endeavor.

5 months to go from 0 to $53,000? Im calling BS on that. It would take 5 months to scrape together enough FR winnings to even consider playing the very micro stakes. If this is anywhere near the truth your friend would have turned pro and made his millions with a game that strong.

Well...I havent made anywhere close to $50k, however, from freerolls I have made enough to play in small sit-n-go's, and keep me busy! My 1 piece of advice would be that when you make a little bit of money, dont rush out to lose it on the biggest game you can afford. Stick to small sit-n-gos!

Many poker players did his bankroll from scratch, commonest is to do bankroll from freerolls and later to increase it step by step beginning in the tables of cash in micro-limit and no-limit, If you have patience and no discourage when you are victim of badbeats, can obtain it.

Wow, you have me beat then by far, I did it in 3 mnths, 2 weeks, and 14 hours:D , no but I've done it, but then ****ed up, but never done it to the degree of Chris, or your buddy, I once one a free roll on Party, flipped the 15 into 600 or so, in one night, and then pushed my limit flipped that into 3k or so, but then sadly lost all of it, but that took about a mnth or so (That's not a lie, it was just dumb luck, and suckout after suckout), did the same thing on Absolute poker, but only made it up too 1500 in about 2 mnths. I thought about trying it again but this time actually not losing the money, but I don't know to tell you the trueth, gl with it if u decide to go for it

I'm trying to do the same thing and build my bankroll from scratch, the only problem is once you earn some money its tough not to try and build it up fast right away. Earn as much as possible before putting your earned money at stake.

A quick bit of advice, instead of grinding FRs to get your first few $$ grind the play money tables, get a couple mil. and sell them (yes this can be done, yes there are sites around which buy them, search on google or threads on CC for them).

Agreed, not to mention making it through freerolls with all of the donks on there pushing in with 36off preflop and miraculously catching something. I guess if you win a decent freeroll though, you could have enough to buy in to a $10 tourney maybe and go from there?

I know it sounds hard to believe but he won roughly 80 bucks in two freerolls and then he just started catching. His first big win was in the $7000.00 guaranteed on FT and then he took down several bigger tourneys in the $26 dollar buy-in range. His largest win to date was $7096.00 in the $28000.00 guaranteed. Yes it is possible, and yes he does play very aggressive at times. Oh yeah and he is only 19

Where does he play, and whats his screen name. Not trying to be rude but this sounds so unrealistic that id like to check him out online. Hed have to win like 90% of toureys he entered for it to grow that quick, esp if his biggest win is only 7k.

congrats to ur pal. what with the prevailing donkitude online and the high rate of statistically weird hands/board cards, to go so far from a freeroll in a few months is indeed an accomplishment.
now, if u told me he did it in LIVE tys, that wouldve been no biggie.

Wow that is really impressive. If he really did that then he has some potential to make some good money. Does he only play on FT or does he play elsewhere as well? Does he multi? Just wondering ;)

Definitely multis. FT mostly. Watched him several times at two final tables at once too.

i have done this and am sitting around $40 right now. i have busted twice already in my attempts (Blew $60 on PS then switched to FT built up $36 and blew it). this time i have taken my bad beats from those and learned from them.
My number one piece of advice in those low-levels:
Avoid all-ins, those take the skill out and allow those bad beats. their still gonna happen but they won't hurt nearly as much over the course of time.

What I like to do when I am not playing the freerolls to build the bankroll, a good way to get money is to play the ridiculously donk-fested .Coms on Full Tilt, get the entry to the big game, unregister and keep the 100full tilt points, then play the 50ftp game for the money token and enter a big game. My friend did it and made some BANK. It's a very easy way to get bigger money besides freerolls. .Coms pop up all day, it's worth it.

I've went from 0 to 43 on FTP, and then lost it. Got back up to 20, and then lost it all. And I've been a good streak lately and now I'm at 63.50. Slow and steady.

I went from 0 to 343 in a couple months on bodog. Cashed out after I finished 14th in the 5k guranteed for only 43 bucks because of how bad I was playing. Gonna give it a few more shots and see if I can run it up to 10k+.

don't deposit...

I am currently working on the 0-10k bankroll thing... and it's really easy to get started... so don't make a deposit just yet...

there are a lot of freerolls on full tilt... the majority of them only pay out the first 27 people... but around 10pm central time... the ferguson satellite comes on... it's a freeroll that pays out $1 to the top 100 finishers... and it's a super turbo tournament... so it goes by pretty quick...

I have already made my first dollar playing on this tourney and am sure you can as well... the objective is to first play this tourney... in till you win at least 5 times... then you can either... sit down at a ring game... or play the $1 tournaments... you have 5 buy-ins to do so...

good luck at the tables
