When it looks like im going to cash in $3 tourneys I get a bad beat like when I called an all in with AA and he called with AK and flopped the nut straight. I have some good cashes and have won and cashed in a lot of tourneys but I can't seem to break even or be up a lot for the day. With $75 what tourneys and what buy ins should I play in.

As a general rule is that you want to have 50 to 100 buy-ins. That would mean, of course, that the max you should be paying tourneys for is $1.50.

I'm fairly conservative bankroll-wise so I would play for much less than that if I only had $75 to work with.

Ask yourself these two questions

What am I a winning player at?

Out of the games I am a winning player at, what do I like to play best?

There's your answer.

I have a few more thoughts to add...

While I don't believe that poker is gambling, one of the things they have in common is that chasing your losses can be very dangerous. Playing poker from that perspective is counter to the proper mindest you need to have to play optimally. You can tilt really easily by being result oriented when in a game.

A pro (I think it might have been Phil Gordon) said, "Make correct decisions and the money will take care of itself."

Mike Caro also has a lot to say about this. You can find his past articles in PokerPlayerNewspaper online. His main thrust is that the money you have today is the money you have to play.

I completely agree with Marlow on that one. One time I lost about 20$ in a night and started trying to get it all back quickly. I became frustrated and it starts to spiral from there. Just keep playing smart and you will win it back.

I know this all to well. Im not saying i lost 100s of dollars as i've never actually seriously deposited on stars, but any downswing can tilt ya. been trying to get out of my bankroll hole...i tilted when i got 2nd, haha those 1.20s are hell to the bankroll if you dont get 1st every time.

Id say stick to the $1 or 2$ SNG's. Hurts the roll a little less when variance gets ya.

As a general rule, you should have between 50 and 100 entries. That would of course mean that the maximum you should pay for tournaments is $ 1.50.

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to funding, so I'd play for a lot less than that if I only had $ 75 to work with.

I join this advice bro.

Play the same thing.

You may have a bad streak and that can be overcome.

You don't have to think about how to get your money back, you need to think about how to improve your skills so that your bankroll grows in the long run. But in general, I recommend you just play in freerolls. :D

When you play poker you can always lose. And what to do in order not to lose - not play at all or play better and better. Sounds simple, but it's not that easy. I've lost a lot of money over the years and still feel like I'm not playing any better. But I can give wise advice now :)

As long as you play within the limits of your bank, then you can already win or lose, play a little of everything in that. I hope you have been able to recover hehe.

hello

I continued playing tables of 2 until you achieve your goals and if you lose 25 back, lower the level and try to recover tranki I think that with 50 dollars you can achieve it, greetings!

If it makes you feel better I won a couple tourneys and brought BR up to $500.00+ and busted back down to $0.00 not managing BR.

Your not bad, just manage your bankroll better and aim for consistency in your game strategy and skill development. you'll get there !!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D
