Hey guys,
So i've been running bad basically all month. I've decided to take a break for a few days cash out everything and maybe like wednesday put some back in. I've sorta wanted to do challenges I see people post here or the publicized chris ferguson/daniel negraneu ones. I'm nothing like these guys so I was looking at putting 10 and turning it to 100. Small bananas but I got things to do and I don't want to devote the entire rest of the year to this. I was planning STT, maybe the 5050's or regular, I play some heads up tourney, I've been getting into HU 2-7 triple draw. I do like to play omaha also with omaha and 2-7 being smaller buys than hold em, but I had a few questions.

Has anyone tried any of these challenges? What rules would you suggest including? Should I narrow what I play? (maybe that's why I ran bad, too much variety?) Is it better to have a bankroll goal or is it good to have a day in mind for the end? ($10 to $100 or put $10 and get to may 31 and see whats up) I didn't think about a thread just cuz they seem like someone just saying how awesome they are and words of encouragement from everyone else, whihc is nice but not so productive. If I do start one, I would probably lean toward how I played possible mistakes and try to get some advice to get better and not just "hey guys played for 3 hours and my roll is now 36.84"

Pretty much it. What do you guys think? Anything I'm missing? Any advice before I start? while i would appreciate the "Good Lucks" and other encouragements would yall want to keep up and be productive in a thread?

It is good to pick a game you think you are the best at and work on it, instead of changing the games you play all the time, that way you can focus on that 1 game. Also you shouldn't say "ok im gonna make X amount of money today" as a goal, instead say "I'm gonna play X amount of hands today or this month". Some people play 5k hands a month(more casual)..some people play 50k or more(more extreme). So try to start off with a realistic number of hands you think you can play in a day comfortably, and set yourself a 1 month goal that way. Or if your a SnG/MTT player do X number of games instead of hands. Also make sure you follow BRM (bank roll management) to ensure that you won't go broke, or at least go broke as fast. AND of course posting hands in the HA(hand analysis) thread to get another person's opinion is a wonderful idea, just make sure you use some kind of hand converter so that everyone can read it properly. Here's a link to CC's : https://www.cardschat.com/hand/ .. and it's also at the top of every page on CC I believe.
GL to you if you decide to try and start a bankroll from $0.. it can be done and I believe there are a few here at cc who have done it also. If you have the means to deposit tho, you could always try n skip the frerolling part and start off with a small bankroll for 2nl or 5nl and work your way up from there, but that's your choice.

Gday Shaw, I can see where you are coming from, but im sure you will get some good advice.

My advice is to find a game you both like and are good at, then tighten up your range, and the play from position, never limp, and that kind of stuff ... Im not really good with all the words and terms, Im just good with numbers.

You talk about Bankroll, Im no expert, but I have got a lot of interesting info from the Full Tilt Academy video lessons, and when I first started it was a great guide for me to go by.

I don't play full tilt. Can I get access to the academy without an account? I'm thinking $10 because I don't really have patience for the freerolls and most of the ones on stars give no unregister tickets so its like five giant tourneys. If I'm wrong Please let me know so I can play those.

Thanks for the narrowing tip. I'll do holdem only. And have the number of games in mind. Would it make sense to mix tounrey types. Maybe 4 5050 4 stt and 1 mtt and keep the mtt and 1 single going. Is that too much mixing? I see some ko which may be good?

hi

First off I really think you should deposit more than $10. That's not enough to be bankrolled for any games (unless you were planning on playing the 30cent sit'ngo satellites to the Daily$1 even they even still have them).
Also you should really consider sticking to one format (eg. 9plyr sit'ngo is a good place to start). HU anything is a bad idea in my opinion. If you stick to something like NoLimit Sitngoes you will be able to get accustomed to the game & then with some studying/research & LOTS of playing time you should be able to learn how to beat them (post hands for discussion on the forums too).
Jumping around to a bunch of different games on a very limited bankroll doesn't sound like a good idea to me at all.;)
