Sorry to hear that, could you not leave the cash tables for a while and only play tourneys? Change of scenery and that!

I think the reason this isn't an option is that starting with $400 and losing 2 buyins at $1/$2 leaves you with $0 :(

if you wanted to gamble so much of your bankroll, why play 1.2, why not enter the sunday million?

Cool - so all hope is not lost :) What's your strategy going to be?

Im really gonna grind, this has taught me an awful lot actually!

prob play $1 SnGs n maybe 1 or 2 180 man$4 SnGs because i have had great results in these the last week

but overall its taught me alot about poker...dnt be too greedy !!
grind it out and make small profits rather than gamble it all and most of the time ill lose !

Im not a bad player or anything...just no BM at all something i really have to work on!

$1 SNGs are fine - your bankroll should be able to handle that. I'd stay away from the turbos though. You're going to want to stay at $1 until you have at least $40 in your BR, and probably should wait until you have $60 for some cushion.

You don't have enough to play any MTTs (except the micro ones on PS), certainly not $4 ones. That's just gambling again... you don't want to do that, right? :)

I know the feeling. I had about $100 in my account at the beginning of the year and then started to play too high, made it to $200 and then eventually went broke.

Now I'm building back and I have 56 dollars. Its going to take time, but soon I'll be back in the bigger games and so will you if you make a comitment not to play too high by using BR management.

I know its gambling but im not gonna play all $4 one maybe 1 or 2 if i get upto $30 i know its not perfect but they do have big paydays if u make FT and i have confidence in my ablility.

But thanks for the advice.

If i where u i whould just stick with the 180 u have been doing so well in latly. Dont now if its your case but i for one hardly play cash games(maby every now and then when im bored) i just feel that i can handle losses a lot beter in SNG/MTT then in cash games, the reaload button is just a to big of a temptiation to me after a big bust out hand.
But it dosent matter how good of a player u are if u dont follow BRM coz then u could have one bad beat and your BR is finnished.

Any way hope u can come back from this and good luck grindin

Been there, done that mate. :(

The game's still the same, you start every day and every session on +/- Zero, so you'll have to forget about past losses that you can't get back.

Again, it sounds like just the same pattern of looking for a quick score instead of playing within your BR.

I admit that I made an error here, in offering advice where it wasn't requested. In 2 hours you went from "I'm quitting poker" to "I have confidence in my ability". I understand completely - I've been there.

The problem is that for me, it went hand-in-hand with losing the remainder of my BR almost immediately. I was really just hoping (and still am) that you don't have the same experience.

Good luck, I hope you can beat the odds :)

I did that same thing and got $20 from a friend - only 4 hours later I had my $150 back + a cool $50 to celebrate. And that's on top of the $20 I gave back.

My suggestion here is 45pl. Sit n Go, buddy ! And good luck !

I quit cash games for the same reasons you have. SNG'S are much more enjoyable. Being retired I play to pass time and I belive it keeps my mind sharp. Only thing is I can't sit and grind for hours at a time. So the smaller sng's are what I play.

And profiting from sngs isn't a grind? Maybe we have different definitions of grind but I find playing winning poker of any form long-term is a grind. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the grind though. Nothing more satisfying (ok I'm exaggerating, but still) than putting in hard work and seeing it pay off.

I also lost my bankroll this weekend, so I bit the bullet put another 10 dollars in and am now up to 20 by playing 45 man 1 +20 sngs.

I lost my br by playing above my BR limits while extremely low. Wasnt as big a loss but I was just about to become a player in profit. Im sort of glad I done it now though It was a harsh lesson and I have already learnt a lot.

Anyway Gl with your 20 dollars spend it well and hopefully soon you will be back up there.

No, forget about the $400, that's gone. Start from zero, not -$400.

^^ that, you never want to be looking to catch up, as you will find yourself posting a similar OP again soon enough, stick to good BRM with $1 sng's and if your making decent money take a stab at a few $3-$5 MTT's on the occasion if your confident of your ability.
