What site are the funds on? This may help people give more insightful suggestions.

Why is it at $5, did you win a freeroll, was it at $200 and you lost $195? I would say play the lowest limit sngs possible and hope you can cash in your first couple to give you some breathing room. I have worked $3 up to a decent bankroll in only a month before, so it can be done.

$5.00- Is this pokerstars and they gave you this. They gave me $5 when I joined. On PS they have mirco mtt/stt. For.10 they have 360 sng. For .25 the have 90 man sng. Try a couple of the 360 sng and see how you do. They might have other mirco tourneys so check out the lobby. If your money is on a different site, play in the smallest buy-in you can find and try to build from there. Good Luck!

Totally agree that you need to provide more information.

I play almost exclusively $1-.10 no limit sngs and do OK. I play for recreation but I sure try to increase my bankroll and I've been doing pretty well at poker stars sngs.

Oh yeah, don't miss out on the CC freerolls! Tough games but free $ if you can beat the bubble.

Anybody got any good advice.

Stars: $.10 and $.25 money added tournaments about twice a day. Otherwise, $1+.10 double or nothings if you know how to play push/fold poker.

FT: Any $1 or $0+.10 MTT's.

They are huge donkfests but patience should result in solid profits with minimal risk. Avoid cash at all costs unless you just want to gamble.

Whatever you play, try to spend a decent amount of your time supplementing these with good value freerolls (value = prize / # participants). The actual poker site ones are generally poor value. Cardschat ones are probably among the best. There are private ones that are in between.

Good luck.

dont discount the .01/.02 tables. i came back to stars with $1 in my account and it only took me two weeks at those tables to get over $100.

put it all on jamie gold to win next years main event....

all comments above are good advice- you need to formulate a plan to get to $100 (then you can move the cash around to take advantage of bonus offers/ new depositors freerolls etc)

If on pokerstars then I'd say play the 0.25 - you have 20 entries, but if you go below $3 then switch to the 0.10....

Fulltilt- I'd keep playing freerolls until you get to $20, chances are you'll lose it otherwise (same applies to any other sites without buyins under $0.50)

Concentrate on qualifying for private freerolls (eg CC or the FT academy freerolls or pokercast/ ofc events)- you can win much more in one of these than you can in most < $1 buyins, so not point playing buyins and losing roll just yet!

Okay

I would suggest going to the penny tables. It is rather easy to win a couple bucks there. Most of the people that play there, do not actually know the logic of playing, but watch out for the bad beats. Play 3 tables at once 1.25$ cents at each table. Play VERY conservative and wait for the big hands. When you get near 10$, play at the big tournaments, with over 100 people for 1.25$ or up to 3$. If you do place, you will probably win a decent amount of money, the more money you have in your bankroll, you should play at a little higher stakes.

I got down to $3 and now I am grinding it out on .05/.10 tables playing very tight and have built back up to about $80 dollars but I have only been able to play about a half an hour a night so it has taken awhile. Just try to be patient and smart if you are not planning on depositing again.

i build my full tilt account up to about $100 from $2 last month this way.

full tilt is tough, not many micro tourneys at all. If you play off the peak hours you won't have any tourneys, so much for BR management Ferguson stlye. You have cash tables (holdem) never see Omaha H/L limit less than .25/.50 tables going, or holdem SnG's, again..Omaha h/l limit starts at 2.00+.25. Hope you play holdem, gl

Obv cashout and retire.

lol. seriously though, play more freerolls and the lowest levels you can find. with some luck you can build that $5 into a lot more. worst case scenario is you lose it all and go back to freerolls and play money.

Low limit sit n gos are fine-play the 6 handed ones. Less money but you have to outlast 4 people to get the money instead of 6. Play the 2/5 cent pot limit ring games too-you can win $5 or so on a 6 handed table. Stay away from the 90+ tourneys-you dont have it to lose.

From the moment I read the OP i had this ^^^^^ in mind, or go to the 25nl or 50nl tables and wait till you get a good hand and shove it, remember it's only $5, then reload.

There is a post somewhere in this thread saying there are money added $.25's / .50's on stars. Those are your best bet. And as said before double or nothing sngs can work to your advantage if you know how to play them

Play some micro staked ring games (1c/2c or 2c/5c) or maybe maybe a small MTT if you feel brave. Pokerstars some mtt sngs if thats where your money is.. but the most important thing is to be patient, keep playing the lower stakes and you'll get right back up there again. :)
