I am currently in a situation awaiting verification of a bad beat. Some casino staff (pit boss) has said he doesn't think bad beat will be paid. No location or names will be mentioned because it is pending. Situation is this.

I won't say what the bad beat is but will give a similar scenario.

Aces full of jacks and Aces full of 5's would both quality. One person had pocket jacks, the other had pocket fives. Flop was Ace, 5, 6. Turn was an ace, River was an ace.
Some are saying the 5 on the flop disqualifies the five in the hand. Any thoughts?

Gotta use both hole cards to qualify. The river screwed you.

i agree that you need to use both of your whole cards in order to qualify. In this case, I do believe the river A had pushed you out of the running. Therefore not using the 5 whole card. This is still a disappointment I am sure., I think they should at least state this in large letters so that it is very well know that both hole cards must be used. I know if i was in the position, i would be upset as well

If full house Aces over fives was a bad beat to aces over Jacks and the rule was to use both hole cards, then I would think this situation would qualify as using both your hole cards.
But in many casinos and online where I've played, the loosing hand is often Aces over jacks, so the above situation wouldn't qualify.

It depends on the casino and what the rules are. I was at a casino where the only bad beats were 4 of a kind 8's and up beat...

They don't make it easy

Casino card rooms, particularly ones that have nearby competition gain more customers when the jackpot size gets large. Therefore, they tend to make it fairly difficult to score one. At my local card room, Ameristar Kansas City, the jackpot has recently been changed to Jacks full or better. The catch is, not only do you have to use both hole cards, you actually have to use one of your cards to complete the big part of the full house, therefore, If you have a pocket pair on an A,A,A board, it would not count. Between this, playing both cards, qualifying pots size, you start to wonder if there are requirements for which way the wind is blowing. They sure don't make it easy.

If it was easy, then they would not be as profitable. I have not seen bad beats as easy as full house before...
