Anyone have a back-up Internet Service Provider in case their service goes out? My cable broadband goes out from time to time, including last night, right in the middle of a tournament. The buy-in was cheap, so it wasn't a big deal, but what if it happened when you were playing a big buy-in? Maybe having a dial-up plan for emergencies would make sense. Anyone know of any good ones and how much they cost? Thanks.

If you have a laptop just get an aircard.... Worth the monthly cost imo.
You could also buy a Cell Signal router.... They are a little pricey as they are new, but it will convert a cell signal into a workable internet solution at your home.

Thanks for the tip. I checked it out, but in my area the best deal I could find for an aircard (mobile broadband) plan would cost $60 a month. Does that sound about right? I don't think that would be cost effective unless I was really playing for a lot of money.

I found a $7 a month dial-up plan that seems kind of slow, but I was briefly able to play 4 tables at the same time with it and then switch back to my cable broadband. Not a great solution, but better than nothing. I wish aircard plans were cheaper; maybe someday they will be and I can take my laptop with me and play poker anywhere that has cell coverage!

I have AT&T Wireless, but no data plan, but they are only $15/mo. Can you play poker on your phone in a crunch? My Blackberry died, so all I have now is an old flip phone.

I wonder if it's possible to log in to FT or Stars and play on an iphone or iPod Touch? Probably not, at least until they come out with a mobile client. Flash-based might work through a browser on those types of sites, but I don't know if Flash works on the mobile devices. The Apple store has some cool Texas Hold 'em games, by the way, but just play money. My son likes them.
