So I havnt been able to place well for a little while now and I cant seem to figure out whats wrong. I have been playing solid poker and have been switching it up on familiar players like I usually do, but I just cant seem to finish it off. I have come close lots of times only to bust out before the money. The only conclusion I came to was to go back to the books and refresh my mind and maybe learn something new. Will post some info that I think is interesting.

Everyone should go back to the books. You learn something every time because you have been through what the book is saying and should understand it better. What book(s) do you go back to? Good luck.

I currently own both SuperSystem 1 & 2, Phil Gordons Little Green Book, Dan Harringtons book 1& 2 and killerpoker by Vorhaus. All the books are good. but the books by Vorhaus are more for begginners. The best thing about the books though are it brings you back to the basic basic stuff and it has a section on different types of players like journal entries. I have been wanting to get the Helmuth book and buy the T.J. Cloutier books so I can keep them(borrowed from friend) in my library. Also the Sklansky books I need to purchase.

Finding the time to re-read the books is the problem for me! I work so much and have the family (4 kids). When I do get the free time, I try to play poker. So I should really try to find the time to read more often. The computer just calls me away from the books!!:D

Phil Gordons book is really good, it covers so much and lets you understand it. I didnt like the TJ Cloutier book, it wasent worth the 22.99.

DO NOT get Helmuths Play Poker like the Pros , its a waste of time. Its stuff that you already know and it teaches you all the games of poker . I only care about hold'em and that stuff was garbage.

You know what. I feel the same way sammy. I dont have enough time do read the books I have due to work and the computer. This may sound funny, but I usually try and read a small section of any of the poker books I have when I go to the Washroom and know I will be there for a bit.lol. Any books out there also to get that are good, but not so popular?

Is there any other free time to read than when you are going to the washroom? Work, family, sports, the only free time I have is when I get to shut that door, lol. I really have to look into buying Harrington's books, I have Super System II and Hellmuth's Play Poker Like The Pros which I find really helpful, especially at limit.
