Well I started playin on bigbet poker three days ago and they have these 10c free sitngos winner take all so I decided to play for two hours a day for 3 days and see what i could make and to my surprise I actually made over 10 dollars playing these with no risk at all. So if u have time and want a small roll to start with this is an easy way to get one

How many players and how often can you get them to run? Sounds like a good idea for people who want to learn and build a roll.
They'll probs be pretty bad too lol.

I'm certainly not against freerolls, but you might want to keep in mind that they only pay "free money" if you regard your time as having no value - which is fine if you play in your spare time like I do.

Also, anyone decent enough to make a buck or two per hour from freerolls can almost certainly make more per hour playing buyins. If so, then playing freerolls has an opportunity cost.

I agree. Since starting with freerolls, I have build a pretty good roll to be able to play in the micro stakes for pennies and nickels. =)

Freerolls are def time consuming, but its fun to do while watching tv or a game. I personally like to play free rolls while I watch baseball/football/or basketball. It's a natural high to also win that chump change for all that hard work. haha.

A couple of years ago, DoylesRoom used to have 10cent SNG's with only a 1cent tourney fee. The play in them was actually decent, better than the $1's on Stars & Fulltilt. I used to recommend them to alot of people who were just starting out and wanted to get in some games on the cheap while learning. These days I don't know what site or cheapies I'd refer them to (definitely not the 10centers on Stars). The Beginner SNG's on bodog are really soft (I think the min. buyin though is $2, but Top5 of 10 get paid).

Does bigbet poker allow US players, sounds like a pretty good way to start the bankroll, i'll have to give it a shot.

Seems like a very cool way to give play money players a chance to get into the real deal. GL with your small Roll. :)

luckily for me i was able to finish in the money on full tilt around the time the take 2 promotion was running.

i was able to run my bankroll up to 123 dollars but in one night i lost it all..

i guess it takes more than just good play to become consistently successful. Bankroll management nowadays is so vitally important as all to often i see people like myself go on massive tilt swings due to emotional play.

as Furio Guinta said in the sopranos one episode "play with your head, not over it"

That's essentially how i started my bankroll a couple of years ago, although i did it at Everest Poker. Freeroll sngs at first, then super micro stakes sngs next ($0.05+0.01 buy-in).

I think it's much better to start that way rather than start with freeroll MTTs, tbh. You learn better and faster with SNGs then you do with MTTs.

Absolutely agree with this. SNGs are the fastest way to learn the game.

More on that:

the reason poker is such a difficult game to learn is that your short term results are primarily affected by luck and only marginally by how good you play, so the feedback you get from playing is a very noisy signal and experience does not always make you improve.

SNGs have a much shorter "long term" than MTTs do, so learning through SNGs is much easier than learning through MTTs.

if anyone was still curious, yes Bigbet is open to us players. They also have what seems, to me atleast, to be a pretty good 1st deposit bonus. They have a 100% up to 500 match. You have to spend $1.20 dollars in rake to clear 1 dollar.
