Has anyone been to Atlantic City? And have a place that they suggest staying? Do they often offer poker tournaments or regular cash games?

Borgata is the place to be. I just went and I stayed at revel. Nice new clean rooms and the casino is nice but very big. The only problem is that a game didn't get started until 3pm, but they let my friend and I play heads up with a dealer and no rake which was cool. They have a poker promotion that if you play 10 hours you get a free room. Friday nights they have a 5k guaranteed for 80$. Borgata is way better then anything though.

That sounds sweet.

For me at Trump Taj Mahal. In my opinion nothing can compete with its massive poker room! It has about 60 tables I believe and they have the most diverse selection of games & limits anywhere in Atlantic City. You can find not only Hold'em, but seven-card stud and Omaha hi-lo, with limits from $1/$2 no-limit Hold'em to $75/$150 limit stud and everything in between. They also host sit-and-gos and daily tournaments.

I stayed at the tropicana about 2 months ago. Had a bunch of 1/2 tables and a few 2/5 tables running. They have a few tournaments a day there.

Overall had a great time and dominated the tables for 3 days

If you plan on going there more than once in lets say six months I would check out the rewards programs that each offers...I know I can get my rooms for 2 bux a night through harrahs reward program . Is a good deal and usually give you several dollars of free slot play as well as free food at the food court or one of the restruants. For only going once a month for 3 nights I only have to pay 6 bux and usually get about 50 free slot play and a free meal...I usually go to Cherokee though but i know I can get rooms comped in AC as well. I would definately look into the perks for return trips up coming.

I beleive the inn of the Irish Pub on Saint James Place between Resorts and the Atlantic Palace is going to start opening on weekends (usually they open end of April) if you are looking for a cheap no frills way to opt out of the high weekend room rates. It's very basic one step above a hostel and no heat in the rooms lol, but the place is clean. They're cheap for lunch or dinner too.
