So, I recently am planing to design an Experiment want to show first
real down swing happens only hand count related.

the purpose of this is to correct some rumor theory:

If you are downswing, stop play for 2-3 weeks, the situation will reset back.
If you are downswing, re-deposit some money into poker room, how to say, your luck will turn from bad to good.
and place a lucky charm beside...etc etc.

______________

So I just do this,
choose poker stars
pick random table from play money - well since it is test...so playmoney will prove the facts as well.

play the same way -- and when luck turns bad.
pick the following

1. continue play -- till BB/100 hands wining back to normal or better
2. stop for like next day -- till BB/100 hands winning back to normal or better
3. stop for a week - see how it does.

____________________________

so does this experiment will show the question I post?
and how many repeated times do you think will let the results make sense?

thanks for share any ideas.

Any game in which there is an element of luck has a certain amount of variance, since the behavior of the cards is random for short periods of time and may deviate from the normal distribution. However, in the long run the behavior will normalize, even if the downswing lasts more than ten thousand hands. There may also be secondary factors, such as tilt or the influence of frustration in the game.
Skill and mental strength are needed to deal with long periods of bad luck, these are signs of a good poker player. Solid banking management is necessary for a player to still have money at the end of the period, so he can earn a profit again.
The most common mistake is that players tilt during the downswing and increase their losses unnecessarily, depleting their bankroll in such a way that they can not recover when bad luck leaves them
Good luck to you at the tables

Oh science experiments on the poker forum, happy days!!! So I think in general the structure of your experiment is set up pretty good, but ideally you should have 4 or 5 people doing this with you or a few people in each group (1 group for continuing play, one for taking a day off, one for taking a week off).

Ideally if you do the group method it would work like this: All groups start playing on Sunday until they believe they have hit a downswing and then they would do whatever their group is until they get out of the downswing and from this you can record number of hands till the downswing and number of hands till the upswing.

I think if you do something like that it should show you what you're looking for and remove a lot of the other variables that might take place. I could probably go into super over explained details about a full experimental design but that's not really necessary for now lol but if you need more help I'd be glad to help!

I also interested in this question. When does the downswing end?
After a certain number of hands played, or after a certain number of days?

I don't understand what we are testing here.

Some players think their downswings online are because an RNG put a hex on them?

And we are testing this hex theory by taking a break during a downswing, with play money? Is this accurate?

For simple minded player there is downswing that you need to take a break to deal with.

For complex minded player, downswing teaches to improve the playstyle and cut out 'leaks'.

my first break after a down swing was 3 years and now i am ''back'' palying after a break of one year... so I guess I am a very simple minded player

If you have in no way at all ensured it's less likely you'll lose your bankroll this time than 3 years ago then yes you are indeed exactly as simple minded as I suggested in my example.

There is no shame in playing free-money poker. It is a great way to learn the emotional discipline as you are against VERY LOOSE players there.
