Has anyone won the badbeat jackpot online? Or know someone personally who has? There are several sites out there that have the badbeat jackpots. I played at absolute and carbon and came close. I flopped quad AAAA and the other player missed a royal flush.

One of the members of CardsChat won one recently, only about twenty years old IIRC...

I have never personally won one online, came real close plenty of times but never online.
I was involved in a badbeat live once though.
I had kk my oponent had aa ,flop cme A,K,blank.turn brought another K giving me quad K's and them A full,.
Unfortuantly the jackpot was only up to around 30,000 or so.

Yeah, let's hope that Carbon don't decide to change the Terms & Conditions...

The ultimatebet one is probably the best chance to hit, it hits regularily like 1-2 times a week. Plus, you can get a table share or perhaps a few hundred $$ if it hits in the stakes you are playing.

Its currently at $560,000 which is abnormally large, its attracted a shitton of players on UB right now, im debating depositing to try and get a slice.

One of my close friends was at the same table stakes on UB when it hit and he got ~$300 or so.

I was at one of the bad beat tables where a bad beat happened, but it wasn't high enough. One guy had Quad 5's and got beat by Quad A's, but it has to be Quad 8's or higher to be considered a Bad Beat at UB. Oh well.

I would love to even be at the same table, not alone win one. I wonder if they would ever happen at the lower jackpot tables like 25/50 cents...It seems to me it would only happen on the higher stakes tables..But I wouldn't know this for sure. I'd like to see the stats on which stakes have hit the most jackpots and how often they hit??

I had QQ once and hit quads on the flop.
Then a guy hits a royal flush on the river with J10.

Today was the first time I've ever seen a board that could even accomodate the BBJ. One of the guys was calling for a Q on a x K K Q board and the Q came but he was just bluffing it.

I've played more on UB the past couple of days than I had in the past month since their BBJ is over $600k now.

Apparently the UB jackpot was missed very recently (it was at $350K at the time) because 2 idiots failed to bet on any street during this hand:

Absolute Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

Button ($34.50)
SB ($60.05)
BB ($28.05)
UTG ($49.82)
UTG+1 ($57.82)
MP1 ($32.55)
Hero ($51)
CO ($17.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with T, 2.
UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 raises to $2, 6 folds, UTG calls $1.50.

Flop: ($4.75) 7, Q, J (2 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks.

Turn: ($4.75) T (2 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks.

River: ($4.75) 8 (2 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks.

Final Pot: $4.75

UTG has 9h 8h (straight flush, queen high).
UTG+1 has Kh Ah (straight flush, ace high).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins $4.75.

Had the final pot been $5 or more the rake would have been .25 which is the minimum required for a hand to qualify for the BBJ at UB. By not even making a min bet at some point the hand failed to qualify and both players lost out on THOUSANDS of $$.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I might be wrong, but from what I understand on CEREUS's BBJ, you need to use both of the cards in your hand in order for it to qualify.

In fact, here is the rules for the Bad Beat Jackpot on the CEREUS Network:

How do I qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot?

In order to qualify as the Winner of the Bad Beat Jackpot, you must satisfy the following conditions:
  • You must be playing at a Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table
  • A Jackpot rake must be collected in the hand you are playing
  • You must use both hole cards
  • You must lose in a hand where you have four 8's or better
In order to qualify as the Winner of the Bad Beat Jackpot Hand, you must satisfy the following conditions:
  • You must be playing at a Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table
  • A Jackpot rake must be collected in the hand you are playing
  • You must use both hole cards
  • Your hand must have beat four 8's or better
In order to qualify for a $1000 bonus, you must satisfy the following conditions:
  • You must be playing at the Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table where the Bad Beat Jackpot hand occurs
  • You must be sitting in when the Bad Beat occurs
In order to qualify for the remainder of the Bad Beat Jackpot that is divided among eligible players, you must satisfy the following conditions:
  • You must be playing at a Jackpot or Turbo Jackpot table
  • You must be playing at the same game type and stakes level where the Jackpot was hit
  • You must have played in at least one hand, in your current session at the table, where a Jackpot rake was collected and you must have contributed to that pot
  • You must be sitting in when the Bad Beat occurs

Yes, both hole cards must be used. The rule that these players failed to meet was: A Jackpot rake must be collected in the hand you are playing. Because the rake did not get to the level needed for the jackpot rake to be collected they did not win the jackpot.

You're right, I'm sorry I wasn't looking at the hand history correctly. Whoops. You are completely correct.

Hehe, I hope someone pointed out the error of their ways to them! :D

Surely both of them were using both of their hole cards?
UTG has 9h 8h (straight flush, queen high).
UTG+1 has Kh Ah (straight flush, ace high).

Oops, you beat me to it!
