I have dealt with electronic shufflers for a few years, different manufactures.

They all have a tendency to have issues sooner than later, I highly suggest you get a service plan or a good warranty, because they can be hard to fix yourself unless you have electrical/mechanical experience.

You should ask yourself why you are getting one, is it worth the money? and eventual headache you will get from one?

Most of the dealers I know can almost beat the machine anyways in some regards.

I would never get one unless I hosted a good home game.

If your dealers are slow, and you are running a raked cash game then a shuffler will be worth the money, if the game runs enough times, in the long run, provided you take care if it. ALWAYS use good/newer cards.

Make sure your dealers treat them with respect, and use them correctly.

We run several at our poker rooms (not this brand) but we rent them, which is something you can consider doing, and if you dont like it then stop renting it. (depending on where you live this may be easy or difficult). I like them for several reasons, not as much stress on the hands, instant switching of decks, and a few extra hands per down.

Cost analysis: first off if you are just getting it for the novelty or relieving dealer stress then fine just buy one, but if you want it to make more money then consider this. You are only going to gain 2-3 hands per 30m down whether your dealer is good or bad, and depending on your rake rules and how crazy your game is, on the high side you will earn an extra $14 per hour. If your game runs 10hrs a session you are at $140 extra per session, at 4 sessions a month thats $560. So at this pace it takes you a 2 months to pay off their standard shuffler, the right cards to use, and the shipping and what not, but this is the high end of everything.

Also be prepared that if you dont like it or ruin it your table will be forever compromised from the install

since there are a ton of poker rooms and casinos around Detroit we can easily rent Shufflemaster's Deck Mate shufflers locally, and at a good price (unless you live in Michigan you will never get it at our price so its inconsequential). We use the crap out of them so they need repair once or twice a year, which they cover in the rental agreement.

www.shufflemaster.com but the website sucks for information, you are better off calling and even seeing if you can rent them where you live first, then get a catalog emailed to you or whatever.

side note- they will probably not rent to you if your game is raking off-book, so dont tell them

furthermore, if your game only runs a few times a month, or doesnt rake that much, it wont be worth renting it..obviously renting something in the long run will far exceed the price it would be to buy it, but renting it comes with many perks if it generates enough money to pay for itself and beyond

Hey guys, ive been a little tied up.

I actually have A LOT to say.. but the "predicament" i am in between myself and shuffle tech is not over yet & i would rather wait (sounds great, right?)

I will be posting a review of my experience which i do hope you all read. One thing I will say now is that there have been many reviews of the shuffler itself and the customer service (rick) on the internet & I must say believe what you hear about him, his company, and his product.

I'll add this and only this right now, I am getting a refund.. though it did not come easily and without stress / anger.

Will give you guys all of the details soon.
