Yup, I know what you need to know about it. It is 55; and so you think the field is easy, right? Wrong-O! This year's field had ALL the pros over 50, including Johnny Chan, Amarillo Slim, Tom McEvoy, Marsha Waggoner, and others I can't recall. The field is NOT easy, so don't think its a cake walk. It was the nicest of the WSOP games they had; the announcers honored the oldest player (93) and even asked folks to clap for some of the old pros and acknowledged when they either progressed or got knocked out. None of the other events honored the players quite like that.
If you can play it, you'll probably sit at the table w/a pro over 55. Good luck and I hope you play!
I first played in it in 2006. It was my first WSOP and since I qualified and it was the most inexpensive of the events I satellited in it. I lasted all of 20 minutes. But it was a great experience. That year they started you off with the amount you bought in for. 1000 in chips. Because of all the complaints that the stacks were so small they doubled it the next year.
It is a very tough field with some very good players with many years experience.
It was my first experience in High Stakes MTT's. But I have kept at it and did place 25th in the Ceasars Classic 10K event. And won 18K. So I am going to be returning to the WSOP to play in the Seniors and others in 2009.
