I'm probably heading out to Atlantic City sometime this week with my uncle. I haven't played poker there in about 7-8 years. The last time I went, Bally's had 1-2 NL tables with a $200 max buy in. From my understanding, just about all the 1-2 NL tables in AC now have a $300 max buy in.

Does anyone know if any casino in Atlantic City has lower max buy in tables??

Trying to figure out my strategy before I go...if they all have $300 max buy ins then I'll end up playing SSS, if I can find a $200 max buyin, then I'll play full buy in.

Why not buy in for 200 if the max is 300? You still have 100 BBs. I mean, think about it. At the start of a hand, there's 1.5 BBs out there. If you raise it to 4 BBs, what's the difference between you and a 150 BB stack?

It's 1/25th of your stack and like . . . 1/37th of theirs, yes. But it's STILL $8. :)

In FL the max buy-in is $100 regardless of the game.

Rough.

I was thinking about that but I want to give myself at least 2 buy ins before I sit down (in case I get bad beated early out of all my chips, happens a lot in a loose, live game)and I am giving myself a max $300 budget for the trip. So I was hoping to find a $200 max buy in table so then I wouldn't be that short stacked starting out with $150.00

most places have $60 min, $300 max for 1-2. my experience has been that if you go on a weekend, only a couple players at the table will buy in for full amount, everybody else is playing short stacked, so it shouldn't matter.

$150 at 1/2 is still 75 BBs. Not a titan among stacks, but not a terrible place to start, either.

If you want to play as $150 stacks, then buy in for $150 and effective stacks = 75bb. It doesn't matter if the other guy has $200 or $57,654.

The strategy you implement for a 75bb stack is going to be the same as long as villain has you covered it doesn't matter by how much he covers you. In fact you would benefit from villains having more behind since they'd likely bet against each other in the side pot, which would result in dead money in your main pot should an opponent bow out after you are all in.
