I will be playing in the PokerPlayer Tour Event at the Gala Casino in Bristol (England) on April 9th. I won an online qualifier.

Are any other CC members planning on playing/railing ?

OK, m8, we will have to try and say hello to each other at the event. I have a Cardschat lapel badge I can wear to help you know me, and we can swap real-world names etc., once you are sure you are going.

We will try to take it down for CC. :)

Don't think I'll go to Bristol but I may try and play the Leeds event in June. Would be interested in your feedback following Bristol though.

You mean July, I think ? I will be happy to post my experiences from Bristol here. I may try to qualify for the Leeds event too, If Bristol is good/profitable for me.

Serves me right for being lazy and not checking the mag! I knew the month began with a J......

Good luck and I would be interested in feedback on the tourney.

I don`t want to link to commercial sites. Just google "Poker Player Tour".

Hmm found it! Looks interesting, I live in Bristol for uni so I might try and sat in and play if I can :)

Is the online qualifier just a seat?

Oh, is that all it is? I haven't properly looked into it. Probably should before asking dumb questions, huh?

Just looked on the site now, shame there's not one near me in London or Luton. Birmingham I could jump on a train to. Gonna have to think about this one!

Seat plus free buffet, merchandise etc., but no travel or accomodation costs.

There is one in Birmingham in November. See you there, maybe ? I live in Birmingham, so will obviously try to qualify for that one, if I am free on the day.

After having a look on the site, I signed up to get 3 copies of the mag for £1, so I'll see if it's decent and probably keep getting it. IF so, hopefully try to qualify and head on up! I miss live poker, not much on in Watford, and with FTP and PS and my fingertips, I can rarely be bothered to go out to London or Luton to play for a night.

I think you`ll find the mag is decent. I have a subscription. It`s lighter than most on the tedious private lives and doings of poker pros and has more discussion of strategy and the actual game.

I love the mag it's really good. I loved the interview with Gus Hansen lol they don't hold back and will tell you he's being deliberately weird and awkward. The strategy and stuff is really good and relevant aswell ,not silly high stakes but what normal people play

I agree with Ben and Egon on theor comments on the mag. The strategy section is particularly good and the whole mag easy to read. I've played one online tourney through the mag and it was a good standard too.

That`s why I specified Bristol (England) in my OP, guys, to try and avoid confusion. I know that there are several places in the US also called Bristol. Presumably for the same reason that there are several called Plymouth. In both cases, the original city in England is a shipping port from where settlers would have sailed to the New World. Once they arrived, they named their new settlements after the old place.
