Anyone else think it has a lot to do with WHEN you play vs. HOW you play?

Question in my mind from all of my experience playing live poker and I am starting to think this might be the case online. Are there certain hours when you can basically expect tables to be full of cash grinders?

I remember following a whim to my local casino one night and having a seat at the $1/2, looking around the table and thinking to myself "Oh $%&* this is a hard table!"

How did I find myself in this mess? Simple -- by being there after midnight on a weds-thurs. I mean... who else is really going to be there playing??

So if I go online mid-week early am and lose my ass at the tables...

...is it because of what a total donkfish I am or are those dangerous hours to be playing due to a high number of sharks/regs/experienced pros with a lot of moves up their sleeves!?

If you play good tight aggressive poker and fold weak hands then you should be okay sometimes playing like a fish pays off and sometimes it doesn't you have the
nuts on the flop and then it turns into the un nuts drinking beer and playing poker isn't a really a good idea when playing for money as you need your full concentration GL

Ahh yes, but sometimes I feel like me playing too tightly is what can lead to my downfall. I have a pretty sharp aggressive game and it usually wins me a lot of money if I can establish a tight image first.

Lately, if I've lost money, its because I have played too passively. Sometimes it looks like I'm scared money and it can be! Especially if I am seen folding to 3 and 4bets.

Whenever I play too timidly it is like a recipe for disaster.

I wind up losing the lead in all my pots, getting put to a tough decision to call or fold to large bets (and I hate being put to that test continuously)... guess that is why I made this post.

When all you see are regs at a table you are correct that there is very little
"low hanging fruit" and you will have to work a bit harder to win. So if that is how it is bring your A game if you want to play.

I find Mondays and Tuesdays toughest. Weekends are good.

Wednesday is my best day, variance I guess.

I find 3 hrs. after peak traffic happy hunting grounds.

Good call. I need to hone my game and target specific times when I am known to play (and profit!) best. Using my tracking software at Pokeit to determine when exactly that is for me.

Question that this post brought up for me concerning online play is... on a site like Bovada with anonymous players, do you think I am playing only with people in my time zone or worldwide?

Do you think the entire bovada/bodog player system can be on one server?! I am not so sure, seems like there are not very many people online some times, I feel like its a proximity server thing going on.
