i was playing a SnG on bodog and was a bit shortstacked when i was dealt pocket aces, i pushed all in and had two callers, they had me covered, one had the other covered and the bigger stack pushed as well, the third called. both players had Jack 7.

i couldn't understand why anybody would push with J7 so i asked and they both said that it's bodogs famous hand. i'd never heard of such a thing. i ended up winning the hand, they did both catch a jack but that's it.

about six hands later, i get dealt J7 and i mucked it, sure enough, flop comes JJ7. i kid you not, this really happened.

has anybody ever heard of this?

Yes, I've heard of it. It's called random card distribution and coincidence.

Just the other day I was holding AA and flopped an A...ZOMG, I couldn't believe it. That never happens.

sarcasm noted, but i'm serious about this. i hope it really is a coincidence. it's just strange to me that two players would both call all ins with J7.

Sounds pretty rediculous. Probably some donks got lucky with it before and never lay it down now. Just a coincidence that it hit when you folded it. Seeing the J77 on the flop once is not proof that it is rigged for J7, lol.

Rigged? I suppose I could try the old J7 combo. I am playing the freeroll at Bodog tonight.

I think this is the work of KD, he goes from site to site spreading rumors about hands that always win. The legendary 84o, A9 which he got some lady pro to talk about, gotta watch him.

Sounds ridiculous to me but amusing. Who's KD anyway?

KD = Kerouacs Dog

Long standing, much posting member that has been absent lately. He's raised some interesting discussions regarding hands like 84o and such.

Im sure there is nothing to the rumor, but maybe they called because of the amount to call. You didn't say if they were in the blinds, position, etc. etc. That might explain the call.

I was in a freeroll once, and a guy tells us he always plays 69x, cause it was his friends favorite hand. He showed 69 winning several hands. I played 69 the rest of the night, and won with it.

Aint life grand?

Maybe it has to be J diamonds and a 7 as in Jack Daniels Old Number 7 to work.
JD would agree to this :)

I love playing 69. I don't play it all of the time, but I do play it alot. I also like J5 and J7.

Good lord... No matter what anyone says, THAT, my friend is a classic - remember forever - bad beat. It was worth whatever you lost just for the story. :)

Never heard of this. Maybe players have noticed a pattern with their so-called dealer randomizer. I personally have seen Q7 on full tilt to be very productive. I play it there all the time. Same scenario where either Q7 will flop two pairs or actually a full house.

Never heard of this but I do like playing J7,though I'm not pushing or calling a all-in with it unless I'm desperate.

The whole thing does not make any sense. The most logical explanation is that it indeed was a coincidence. It can't be a site problem, that would be just stupid. Probably the two donks were caught up in the J,7 rumour and went all in because of it. Coincidentally, a J came out then and later JJ came out when you mucked J,7. Strange things happen in poker, that's for sure!

Can`t we start a rumor about a "never fail" hand that is crappier than J 7 ??? How about 2 9 or 3 10 ???????? Lets get these knuckleheads calling with anything. Oh wait, I got it! Deuce/ nine offsuit is a sure fire winner at every site online but only if you call an all-in with it. That`s the ticket! Never loses! Ever!
