I have been playing in one lately and it's pretty fun. Check out my latest blog on Pub Poker, and let me know if you play in one and what you think. Does your league give out prizes or charge any fee to play in the tourneys? What do you think of the level of competition?

Yes i have. It can be fun if your just looking for a game. They never charge but most of them offer extra chips the more drinks you get.
So obviously there will be some drunk poker played. Now some of them offer nice prizes at the end of the year prizes like seats to the WSOP. but most of them you might win like 50 $ or something

I play in a league at a bowling ally. There are several good players there, but there are a LOT of really bad players. So the quality of competition is not really good. They don't charge a fee and prizes are ok. They have 2 games and payout a combination of cash and gift cards to the top 2 winners. I have won a good amount of the prizes, but it is more of a social event. I have made friends with some of the better players and invited them to our home game, for a good quality game!
