What do you need to get residence?? How long does it take to become a citizen and open a bank account? Basically what are the steps to get dual citizenship to get back on stars?

You don't need citizenship to open a bank account in canada. I believe they will only allow you to stay for 6 months as an American tho. Easier to move to mexico.

Rent money
(typically one month's rent & 1/2 month's rent for a damage deposit)
How long does it take to become a citizen and open a bank account?
How long does it take to walk into a bank & see a teller? "It depends" if there's other people waiting in a line-up ahead of you.

You don't need citizenship. Just need proof of an address.

yeah i heard that someone has to sponsor you to become a citizen. you can only work part time for a period of time before working full time. unless the position you are trying to get is shorthanded up there. im thinking 30 years ago or so and things might have changed.
easier to become a mexican citizen, yep if you can handle drivebys, kidnappings and squirrel cages to keep your internet going.

Don't you need a tax id number for another country in order to withdrawal? Like the equivalent of a social security number? I ask because I have a Canadian bank account, but am a US citizen (husband is Canadian but is a US resident).

Future poker biz whent belly up before it even started, read this.

Q: Can I use a VPN or IP randomizer to appear as though I am outside the US and still play on pokerstars.com from within the United States?

A: No. real money play is not allowed from within the US under any circumstances. Players who attempt to play for real money from inside the US with the aid of VPNs or other technical workarounds may lose their playing privileges and/or funds in their account.

I can't imagine why you would want to consider moving to another country jsut to play on a specific site. The thought of all that trouble to do so when you can just play on what is available here now is nuts.

Just my two cents, but that is a lot of work and trouble to go through

Hi, I think i just say some famous poker grinder actually born in USA, still plays in pokerstars, just because they prove that they live Not in US for a long time! Even they have not changed their citizen ship!

So if for real money, you only need to move to Canada, then, I actually travel to Canada before and lived in Toronto for about 6 weeks, to open an account in local bank, you don't need anything a passport will always do, that's in 2007! not sure about what's happening now!

therefore, like other players, you just need a paper work, like recently utility bill to show ur address, and an local bank account to play real money if you want to move to Canada for a living like grinder!

But as for me, I will never do that, cos poker is just for fun not for live.:D

I would never leave the USA just to play online poker. If it came down to it ,I would just play more @ B&M or home games.Online makes it nice for practice when I can not play live or during the work week, when I have no time to do so & it's convenient just to log in.

Say that to the hundreds (thousands probably more like it) of players who are currently doing this. When you browse a few tables or tourney lobbys and see a bunch of players with home country listed as Costa Rica, Mexico &/or Canada, you can be assured that MANY of them are US citizens who formerly played from US.

FWIW i always avoid tables or atleast players with canada on it because i percieve so many of em to be hardcore online pro's who were good enough to make such a life changing move =P

If you move to Russia or even macao/china , thats where i'll avidly seek you out to play =D
