You don't need citizenship. Just need proof of an address. What do you need to get residence??
Rent money
(typically one month's rent & 1/2 month's rent for a damage deposit)
How long does it take to become a citizen and open a bank account?
How long does it take to walk into a bank & see a teller? "It depends" if there's other people waiting in a line-up ahead of you.
Basically what are the steps to get dual citizenship to get back on stars?
no offense to anyone cause i live in europe and we still can play online here. but man it sure sounds funny moving to a new country to play poker. i can only imagine how much it sucks not to be able to play. i hope they make it legal again. good luck fella.

Q: Can I use a VPN or IP randomizer to appear as though I am outside the US and still play on PokerStars.com from within the United States?
A: No. Real money play is not allowed from within the US under any circumstances. Players who attempt to play for real money from inside the US with the aid of VPNs or other technical workarounds may lose their playing privileges and/or funds in their account.

Say that to the hundreds (thousands probably more like it) of players who are currently doing this. When you browse a few tables or tourney lobbys and see a bunch of players with home country listed as Costa Rica, Mexico &/or Canada, you can be assured that MANY of them are US citizens who formerly played from US.I can't imagine why you would want to consider moving to another country jsut to play on a specific site. The thought of all that trouble to do so when you can just play on what is available here now is nuts.
Just my two cents, but that is a lot of work and trouble to go through
