Any other live players having trouble playing online because of boredom?

If I force myself to pay attention to the table, no multis, no emailing, no tv, etc...I can win usually. My attention span goes away fast I have to be honest. I love playing live and can sit at a table for hours and hours.

Has anyone had this issue and found a way to somehow fix it? SNGs are not too bad, but cash games online zzzzzzzz

I find myself doing the same thing. After a hour I start to play my "autopilot" game. I try to prevent this by taking frequent breaks and limiting my distractions.

I have the biggest problem losing focus at live games because they can be so slow. This has given me problems when playing big pots. I have trouble narrowing down villains range because I did not observe how he was playing earlier.

I don't multi--table too much, so not much exp there, but if you limit other distractions and play two tables - there should / could be enough going on for you to not get bored. Even when you're not playing hands, watching action - identifying spew-tards, nits, passive fish etc. Enjoy the process if you can even when not in a hand, estimate ranges, see if you were right at showdown etc.

Edit - talking online cash ofc 6max or FR.

Live play at home or casinos? Casinos are much quicker IMO and a lot more interesting.

2 tables and thats it isn't so bad. I can't do 1 cash and 1 sng at the same time though lol.

Lol, neither, they're too different. I like playing live cash a lot also (more so than online sometimes), but it's def more BR intensive at 1/2 or 2/5!

I guess I just love the social game of poker too. I am very friendly at the tables and it helps gain information. Lots of times people next to me will let me see their hand as they play it (when I am out).

I strike conversations with people at the table (chat). I put on some cool music to get into the game better and of course the most important factor is having a goal. I take a peak at the cash prizes every once in a while too to keep my mind on it. I guess it has to have meaning. For instance, I play league tourneys where overall progress can win me more cash or other prizes.

I love to p[lay poker but online poker is so slow. Why do people take 15-20 sec. for a decision? There are very few times when that much thinking is required.

probably because they are playing multi tables, watching tv, playing video games, thinking of odds, etc

I'm having the complete opposite problem. Well, it's not much of a problem as it's keeping me busy and out of trouble.

I'm really, really into playing online. Well on my way to addiction. I can't remember the last time I was into something this much. The competition, the learning, the money, the challenge - I love it all.

Lately I find playing a play money table along with the cash game helps to keep my mind on the poker play without having to worry about critical play on more than one table.

ugh, just got out of a SNG where I lost. I could have studied the table better instead of watching tv, but it is so F'n boring waiting 30 seconds for 3 guys to go, then waiting for someone else to disconnect about 17 times in a game.....ugh

When live I dont give a shit due to its such a fun atmosphere. poker online I just want to go in and make my money and go. Live I want that too, but it is also FUN. Online poker is not fun. Maybe I need a break.

that is just as bad as watching TV IMO. I play much better when I learn how someone plays. If I know someone is a nit, I won't try to take a pot down with weak top pair. If someone plays every hand, my A7s looks like a monster.

Somehow I just need to find the passion for online poker, but maybe it will never be there. I won't ever play online cash. They are 100% boring compared to sng, mtt....and especially compared to live.
