Hello to all the poker lovers.I am genuinely interested in poker games but the area I am keenly interested is Razz Poker. I have been trying my hand on this and I have developed a liking for this. I want to be good at this game and for this I would like to know any good strategies that can help me to be a better player.

Hope that you people would help your poker friend.

Honestly I love razz and I do good at it but I guess the only thing I can tell you is dont be afraid to bet, use the cards showing to your advantage and put pressure on people. Most people for some reason fold more in razz then other types of poker and whenever I play HORSE and razz comes around I generally get a lot of chips. I guess if you want advice give scenarios and what you think you should do, hope it helped if you have any more questions just ask.

Razz is simple to play

There are a lot of strategies for Razz...some basic ones are about starting hands.

But, I think you should read some articles and books before you play. There are a few great books on amazon that will help.

I use a Razz cheat sheet that is like a blackjack card I found in one of the books. It helps me when I play online.

Razz is fun to play since so few people take the time to learn it.

I normally dont start with anything higher than 8 high on my starting hand. From there on, its what the other player/s are showing and what cards I get. I know this is really basic, but I dont feel the most comfortable in the world giving advice, since I dont win like a winning player should

^^^^This is sufficient enough for someone to get started. The other thing I would add is to be aggressive with your strong draws. Don't slow play anything unless you have someone who you know will bet into you.

Raise any time you have 2 cards to a wheel. At least call any time you have 3 to an 8 low.

I find that valiums and reefer keep you mentally prepared for what's bound to happen.

If you are new to the game, play very tight: don't even call without at least three cards eight or lower on third street. Then judge whether you are ahead or behind by the showing cards.

Eventually you'll want to be more aggressive and force people to fold when they aren't hitting, even if you have KK underneath.

Try not to kill yourself when you make awesome stud hands for an hour strait. Look for the easy money, a lot of people have no clue how to play. It is definitely my favorite card game, but I make sure to have plenty of alcohol around to take off the edge after a terrible session. If I play in one wsop event in my lifetime I hope it is a Razz event.

usually in razz if u get 3 cards with 7 and lower u got a good set then play towards their cards if they hit high and u do still bet becuase they might have a brick hidden and if they never fold don't try to bluff but if they do just keep betting even if you overlap your cards

razz

Normally, i start with cards not higher than 8. or little strair ptoject, and if its a low color strait, better.
When you looks that you have the lower hand increase the pot.

But razz, its too bored, i prefer HORSE, you change game continuos.

Thanks, and excuse for my english.

Here are a few articles that helped me totally destroy 50c/$1 and $1/$2 Razz on fulltilt.

Also, (although I have not read it myself yet) I suggest you get "Sklansky on poker" and read the Razz section.
Just play tight, simple, wait for good staring hands and you'll have way the best of it at the low limits.

Razz strategies...

I like my strategies for the game which I developed using the online Razz simulation tools...I have a web site on it...but, I'm not sure I'm allowed to share it. Is it allowed or not in this forum?

Helped me to win tonights $24 tourney on FT...granted only 92 players and not a money for first...but I like winning.

My strategy is basically to try and play the player. Simple, but it works, about an hour ago, I had 2 pair by 4th Street, but I was able to bluff a a buy showing a 9.

Razz is real fun, I like to just play very aggressive if I have a strong hand, or if my hand is showing very strongly against someone else's face cards, otherwise fold.

Read the Razz section in Michael Craigs great book-Full Tilt poker strategy Guide. Its by Ted Forrest and Huck Seed. They maintain that Razz is the purest form of poker. Where the good do well and the bad players dont win.
