it is a wrong method of playing Slowplaying, so as not to allow more chips to enter the board. it is not advisable, in the game two cards of the villain may form a game bigger than yours. By checking or simply calling when you flop a set with a pair in hand, you are in fact creating a situation where your opponents will be able to hit the cards they are waiting for. I make this mistake many times!

Yes Slowplaying can actually create more headaches than it's worth. By the time the turn comes, you have created a problem for yourself. It is tough to get out of these sticky situations and you sadly have to find the fold button. If you get lucky, sometimes it actually works and you can win a ton of chips.

I think a successful slowplay is one of the most difficult things to accomplish in poker. Not only is it hard to properly play your hand against someone who could potentially bet with the weaker hand, but as belizebum mentions, you have to rely on your opponents to increase the size of the pot. And when it's time for you to make a move to hopefully extract more chips from your opponent, the move may be too late where they opponent doesn't have enough buy in to call and your win is smaller than it could be. Also, slowplay long enough and your opponent could make a hand that ends up beating you in the end.

Slowplay can bring a little more chips in a particular hand, but leads to huge losses at a distance.:slug:
