almost a statistic

Let me start out by saying hello CardsChat Community. I have been playing poker for the last 6 years ( as a hobby ) and really got serious in the begining of 2008. My game was missing something i just couldnt gain any ground, then i found cardschat which has really improved my game. After recent events i think it would be in my best intrest to take some time off from the poker world and let me explain why.

The reason for this thread is to let everyone know my events the last few years. For those who dont know i am a business owner ( construction ) since march 2003. About 2 years ago i started to feel the economic crunch. In the fall of 2007 it got to the point i needed to take a small loan to make payroll. Anyone who works outside knows what its like, so during the winter months it was a struggle to make any money due to the weather. And here it is spring time already still a struggle with payroll and the business bills, so to take some of the load off the business my business partner and i decided to not draw a check for a few months rather than take another loan. Things started to pick up a little, it was looking good for a while. Then home sales hit an all time low in my area late last fall to an already struggling business. Work went from 5 days a week to 2 or 3 days a week. I was really getting stressed and with a nagging wife beating my ear to get out and go to work ( which is very justified i guess, she is a medical secratary and working 70 to 80 hours a week ).On march 16 i took all i could take i had a nervice break down. I felt traped all i wanted was out and the only way i could think of was death. Well that didnt work out very well. My wife gave me the option to go to the hospital on my own will or she will 302 me ( which involves cops, handcuffs, and a lot longer stay in the hospital). After sitting 15.5 hours in the ER ( due to over crowding ) i got my new home for a week in the mental health hotel (a.k.a. nut house, funny farm and many more i am sure). On tuesdays and fridays they give you an evaluation and i wasnt completly truthful i just needed out of there. They said i have post chronic depression, and for that i need to take 1 pill a day for not less than a year or even longer. Since march 16 my life has been a rollercoaster ride. I am not a very emotional person but in the last 2 weeks that has changed. Today i went for my first appointment which ended up being only more paperwork very disappointing. They assured me that my next appointment will be with a doctor on april 6 we will see. Thats about it for now cheers to all.

Sounds like times are tough, as they are for many of us these days. I am glad though that you are getting some help to deal with what undoubtedly is a lot of pressure and stress piling up on you. Just remember that we are all here for you, if you need some sympathetic ears. I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope that something will come along soon for you to turn things around.

Hang in there Jes, we want you to stick around here a lot longer. Being self (under)employed too that crunch has realy put the hurt to my buisiness too. I have a gut feeling it'll turn around a lot quicker than what most people think so we can get back to making some decent money.

Hey jes, hang in there bud. And let me suggest getting involved in the Friday musical interlude thread, it's a lot of fun searching out different videos and posting them on Friday. I know for me i start bouncing up and down about Wednesday morning waiting for Friday to get here.

Hey man I hear ya abou the bad times.
I own a landscaping buisness and have cut our employees down to one or two days a week.
So with all the pressure of having to worry about them and there familys on top of having to worry about my own,I can feel your pain and your stress.
I wish you well on your recovery,and hope everything works out for your buisness.
I hope the economy will make a turn around this year for all of us that are in the same boat.

Thanks nine and lefty for your comments very kind. Just an update on my condition. Everything is going a little better for me know. The second doctors appointment (waste of time) didnt go very well, it was like she wanted me out of there very pushy. A few days later Marcy (my wife) gave me the option again to call the doc or she will 302 me, so i called and got in that day (thank god). We told the doc that the 1 pill a day wasnt doing anything (sigh) so now with Marcy pushing the issue i am up to 4 pills a day. What would we (the men) do without a woman who cares in our lives. For the meds i have to take what an improvement i am so relaxed and mellow. And just think i used to laugh at people in my situation.
