Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet on Cardschat about the movie coming out in theaters March 23rd called "All In: The Poker Movie" but here is the trailer:
It's basically a documentary of online poker from beginning to end. I can't wait for this to come out just to see what they all have to say. Members of the cast include: Matt Damon, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Moneymaker, and many others...also the two less desirable people in poker nowadays, Howard Lederer & Chris Ferguson.

hahaha I love Phil Laak. Lots of big names, however isn't Ferguson like a criminal or something? I haven't checked the story in a while but that's what I thought last time I looked. I wonder if a certain Mr. Ivey is interviewed in it.

Yeah this has been in the works for a very long time glad to see it finally coming out. Should be pretty good overall with lots of mixed reviews from the poker community I'd think.

You're so right fletch
They're only heros until they get caught cheating. (and indicted)
Lederer is a genuine piece of crap.

The trailer looks well put together. Should be an interesting watch for any fan of poker... though I'm not sure it will draw people new to the game.

I remember seeing this in the works for a while now, and it'll certainly be interesting seeing the interview footage they took of Lederer and Ferguson with the context we now have.

There's one review here:
http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/all-in-the-poker-movie/6112

I certainly hope that the topic of Black Friday is not presented in a way that if this movie becomes mainstream people will be scared away from online poker. The review seems to portray it that way and it would be horrible if Joe Casual walked away from this film thinking that online poker is something to be wary of.

It seems like a fun watch. Maybe put it on in the home game after march madness is over.

I def wanna see it,,,

I never liked Lederer...something about his mug made me feel this way, and what's going down kind of validates that feeling

It's also ironic that former NY Senator Al D'Amato is in this...that's another p.o.s, corrupt S.O.B and it figures he would have his head in this and probably has his fingers in a pew pies lobbying for legalizing poker....he always followed his nose (ala Toucan Sam) and sniffed out someones fat pocket for a handout(or an envelope under the table)

Lederer also looks like he needs to go on a "Leavenworth Diet" plan...

Tirola's film is ultimately yet another illustration of the overwhelming corporate corruption that continues to dog the U.S., as three of the major online poker companies were shut down in 2011 for pulling variations on the kinds of ponzi schemes that we associate with Goldman Sachs, among others.

What?! Just another example of poor, lazy journalism. I guess "Slant" is appropriately named.

I had heard this movie was going to come out sooner, but when Black Friday hit they had to hold off to include it and it's ramifications in the film.

Is it only me or is anyone else not going to see this because it will be too depressing and only bring up the utter frustration I feel with the hypocritical, sleazy, underhanded, greedy morons that passed the UIGEA and congress for not making this right? ...And having to look at Lederer and Ferguson all smug and happy.

I would see it strictly for it's info as well as it's opinions and story regarding Black Friday plus the legislative players in D.C.

Slants or otherwise...it should be informative and entertaining

Has anyone seen this yet?

I ordered the HD download and DVD special package they're offering because the showings in Ohio are 3-5 hours away from me. Shiping date on those is April 24th.

Looking forward to watching it and also hearing what everyone thinks. :)

I've read some reviews on it, and all the reviews have said it's a good movie. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Oh that is so cool--looking forward to your review. Though I love Columbus and would welcome the excuse to get up there, my life is too jam packed right now to slip away.

D'Amato has been the political face of online poker and the PPA for years now. Without his political clout on the Hill, I doubt we'd be as far along towards legislation as we are now. Love him or hate him, it's good to have him on your side. Very much like the NRA if you're pro-gun rights.

This does look good. Can't wait to see it. I think this may even boost the entry numbers in the next wsop which has been waning lately.

If Al is contributing...that's all good

I'm just saying here in New York he's been known in many circles to be chummy with organised crime for decades. His interests tend to be slanted towards making "friends" happy, and I'm sure there's a monetary gain for him....I was simply putting a bit of information to the thread and it was no much of an opinion...just what I've read and heard over the last 20-30 years

I don't honestly care who helps contributes to making online poker legal....I just hope we get it done as soon as possible

D'Amato has done a lot for New York as well, and having him on our side will hopefully get this done sooner than later
