Advice on SNG vs Ring

hey!

i deposited $25 about a month ago into stars and my BR is now around $100 after withdrawing $50 or so. I did this by grinding .01/.02 ~20k hands. Lately(last 4-5 days) I am break even. I've heard that SNG's are pretty profitable and are a good way to build a BR. I was wondering if they are even better for BR building than a ring game?

The other day I played about 15 $1 SNG's and finished down about $4, which all in all was about break even for me. So should i grind out some more SNG's to see if I can make a profit or should I just stick to ring?

Personally I found that I'm more profitable in ring games. Ring games allow me to pick my tables. IE, I control where I sit and who I sit with. This is a big advantage.

Also, if I get sucked out on in a ring game I can rebuy, thereby retaining my image/position/reads/etc. But in a tournament or S&G one big suck out means you've lost all that and have to start a new game from scratch. Plus, at multi-table games you can get moved, which is harmful to the image you've guilt and your reads on the other players.

Oh yeah, and toward the end of a S&G, with rising blinds, there's a lot more luck involved and you *need* to make big/risky moves.

Of course, if you're a better tournament player than you are a ring game player, then by all means hit the S&G's.

Personally, I was a losing player in S&G's. But I recently started experimenting with the 2-payer HU S&G's and have won 5/6 of those. (The one loss coming from flopping a set of 4's, getting all-in, then losing when he made a set of Jacks on the river).
So I'm tempted to put more effort into those sort of S&G's.

Thats a good point but the value of image/people at the table goes down when your playing really small micro stakes and 80% of the people dont know what they are doing.

Oh but I forgot to ask...which person SNGS are more profitable for those that play them, 9, HU, or 18+? I personally was playing 9 person which looked like it had the best profit available considering the people in it. 45 person SNGS just double the winnings of a 18 person so that really doesn't seem good to me.
