Ok i'm new to poker and would like some help on my play,
I was in $25,000 tournament (won my way through)
i was given Q Q, blinds were 100-200
1 player in raised to 600
we were 1 hr 15min in and above average chips 7900 me, 8500 him
so i raised to 1071 ish
my thinking if he called or raised he has good hand, (i thought AK AQ AJ or Pair)
He called
Flop J 2 5
he checked, i put in 1500
he called
Turn 10, as i'd put in half my chips(no possible run or flush available) i didnt want risk an A K popping up
so i went All in
He showed K K
He won, now i know he played it well, i did all his work for him,
But did i play it wrong? and where?
Or was it just bad luck?
Yes i lost but should i of played different?
Any advice would be appreciated, on when and where i went wrong.
Thanks for looking, Eileen.

You got unlucky, but if your read was that he was strong and your range for him was high, you should try to use pot control, this may have helped you limit your losses rather then risk all. GL on the felt

You were unlucky but pay more attention on reading your opponent & on position. ®

It was an unlucky hand but happens all too often

I guess the only thing I would think you do diff is the allin on the turn as he raised preflop(repping strength) then called your reraise and a big bet on the flop after that point he was as commited as you were

something to think about maybe lol it still hurts all the same

You should stake off the mimics and behavior of your opponent.
It plays a very important role in the result. Psychology is above all.
And be at least a little bit clever))

Your 3-bet was way too small. It's not even a true min-bet.

Wait...why are you min raising with QQ there? Min raising tells you nothing/gets you nowhere here. No value, no protection, no range on opponents hand. Nada...except it inflates the pot and invites people along. Even if the opponent raise to 600 with J5, they're calling an extra 471 to see a flop. Unless they're dumb and they fold there...

With that said, you just got a bit unlucky to run into pair vs bigger pair. You still would've rain into it if I had reraised bigger. So, just chalk it up to bad luck. Still, raise more preflop because there a ton of hands <KK that call there and you beat. So, take them to value town.
