Of course, poker can be addictive to the personality which is predisposed to ANY compulsive behavior. If there's a misconception about poker addiction, it's probably that you can't be addicted if you're not gambling real money. WRONG! A player can become just as obsessed by play money tables and freeroll tournaments as the compulsive gambler who's losing his weekly paycheck.
Each person must evaluate his/her own comfort zone regarding the amount of time they invest in front of a computer playing cards. If other duties are being forsaken, if quality time with family and friends is being sacrificed, if fresh air, exercise, and adequate sleep are being exchanged for lengthy poker sessions, I would say those are legitimate red flags.
Consider taking a week away from playing poker. If you find that it's difficult or impossible to stay away from the tables, watch out!
