Accused of Cheating Online!!!

So last night I was playing in a Funstep SnG on carbon. This guy was being a jerk so I called him out on it. Next thing you know we are going back and forth mainly with him callimng my stupid over and over. After about 40 hands i look at my hud on this guy (Hold em Indicator Carbon Skin) and tell him hes a fish because well... he is. Hes playing loose being passive and overplaying his hands. After he tries to deny this, I tell him he can't argue with stats. My hud is telling me everything. He says "HUD?" and i say "yeah... i have software." he sits out from the table for about ten minutes after tellin me hes going to report me. Comes back and says that I am busted. I've just been turned into the site for cheating!!! i asked him what he was talking about, and he says software. I begin to tell him that the software was free with the site and that poker tracker is used by people everywhere and is way more indepth. he just says thats not what you said. I am so offended and I dont cheat the game at all. i cant see hole cards. I cant data mine. Just see stats on hands that ive been involved in. I now am waiting to see what becomes of it because i know that sites dont take these kind of thngs lightly. but this is a TERRIBLE accusation to make on someone, and i just dont know what to think. i have since disabled all player chat, becuase i am not there to make friends. i am there to take peoples money and thats that. the site features way too many players who abuse each other and i, for one, am sick of it. its a game that we all play to have fun and verbally abusing people should not be part of it. i mean the things i see people say online make phil hellmuth look like the pope in comparison.

Can't even imagine what the chat must be like at the funsteps with all the "experts" and "pros" who are there . If it bothers you, just turn it off. I wouldn't worry about anything he said. No way you will be busted for using software that the site itself provides freely. There is a list of banned software for all sites and they do have the ability to scan your system while you are logged into their site to check for it. How often they do this is another matter matter altogether. But, as long as you weren't using any specifically banned software, you'll be fine.

As far as commonly used software the HUD they provide is fine (obviously) as are PT3/4 and HM1/2. Those are the major HUDs/Trackers and they are all fine, so using any of them will not get you banned. Short answer...the guy is FOS.

This is one of funniest posts I have read in a while. You have come up with the correct solution, turn off chat. I doubt that you hear any more about this.

That, or being so bad that you can't win because you just know everyone else is cheating, and that's all that keeps you from crushing .

^^Absolutely this. Times Eleventy Billion. Also, never even mention that you are using software. I always assume that everyone is and assume they think the same about me, but I'd never confirm it while playing. In short, why give away any information at all that you don't have to?

Funsteps are SNG Games, you can get a ticket to play them and the ticket is free.

Do they pay out real money?

yes. $1 if you win all three steps. i've won the dollar and am currently building it up. over 11 dollars in my roll so far

Even if funsteps don't pay, or don't pay much, it's still not a good habit to get into. Keep your knowledge of someone else's game to yourself. You just never know when it will help you.

Although you should just disable your chat, absolutely no good comes from it imo.

Agreed, but I'm assuming he's not going to be playing funsteps for ever. why pick-up bad habits there that could hurt you later on?

I agree you shouldn't pick up bad habits, I seem to be thinking chat is bad for different reasons to everyone here though.

Imo chat hurts ROI due to the distraction, For me trying to 2-4 table HU and chat it was just awful for my ROI since I was not concentrating on anything. I'm not worried about giving info away since I can just balance my info range with some lies anyway.

well i ve just recieved an email stating that an investigation is being opened on me by the site... jesus. and ive turned that dollar into over ten now, so im pretty much done with fun steps. but i still do them every now and then to try to pad it up some more

The have the chat so that should be the end of the investigation, although with merge you never know. IMO they would have frozen your account already if they thought it might be legit.

Turn off chat, they have the chat log, I wouldn't be worried at all if what you say, is what happened.
