Abusive language

Hi all, have been playing for quite a while and still not able to understand the abusive language.
The latest I have to admit, was the worst, so bad not worth to mention..
I like to believe that I am a positive thinking person and wishing bad things to others it's not my style, what do you think about the motivation somebody may have to do something like that.?

if abusive language is used by person who is not close to me in real life, i dont care

The abusive language is used from people who don't know how to play and don't understand the game at all.

Don't take it too seriously these are emotions. I also think that's an online thing.You are playing alone at home losing a hand and then some people writing bad things in chat. Nobody (99%) would do that in a casino where you are sitting next to each other.

I think stupid people are everywhere, and therefore also in online poker rooms. They are nothing but cowards who hide behind a computer to send their hatred to others. They are not interested in poker, only teasing and treating all their frustration with offensive words. You don't have to answer them, not even a word. You have to pretend they don't exist. And that they disappear.

It's hard to tell without knowing what abuse was spoken, what is abuse to some may be not be to others, I like it when on the odd occasion I see abuse in chat, it tells me that the abuser is ready to donate his stack.

Some I’m sure think it helps tilt people , but mostly , I think it’s just bad people.
Unfortunately this world is full of bad people, just ignore them or block them and continue being a good person my friend.

Thank you for your nice comments, I'm used with the usual bad words, calling of names, but this was something quite different, did you ever experience someone to wish you to get ill?

Your opponent may be in a bad mood. Maybe he wants to break your mood so that you can win easily. If communication in the chat during the game interferes, then I recommend turning off the chat. In addition, you can complain to the poker room administration about being insulted during the game. I don't know how they'll punish you. I never complained. Turned off the chat if it interfered.

I think it all depends on the level of intellectual development of the player. If a player is unable to play poker, he begins to look for culprits and insults other players. In any case, I believe that insults during the game are unacceptable.

When playing online people feel untouchable. Also it is much easier to play from your home in condition which would never allow you access to normal casino (drunk, mentally unstable and so on). This allows some people to "tell" online things that they will never tell during live game when they are on real table with real players. I simply ignore the chat or is someone is too stubborn i block him/her.

"I hope 'X' happens to you, 'Y' happens to your mother and that your puppy gets run over by a steamroller.."

Yep, people can say some pretty lowdown stuff but, this doesn't have to, nor should it, affect you.

There are endless ways to deal with these kind of people, ranging from ignoring them, baiting them, reporting them and the list is only really limited by your imagination.

My personal favourite is going all Liam Nielsen in 'Taken' on their ass and the priceless expression on their dumb faces (shortly before everything goes dark) when they open their front door and I say...

"Hi, I'm Tr4cid..."

Online poker might be compared with driving a car and casino poker might be compared with driving a shopping cart. When people are separated from others, as in a car........ its much easier to be obnoxious and rude.

First of all we need to examine who this person is in respect to ourselves. Do they even know us? If they do know us........do we respect them?

Comments from people we don’t even know, or people we know but don’t respect should have no weight or value to us and must be treat as such.

There are all sorts of situations and people in this world. I’m sure not all the people who make these bad comments are bad people. Some may just be having an bad life, a bad day, a bad poker session. Some people think and behave as if the world owes them. Some people really have been dealt a poor hand of cards in real life and just can’t seem to find a way to make the best of it. We really can’t know what’s happening in their lives, perhaps someone close to them died or maybe they are just a bad person. Maybe this is just some poker strategy that has worked for them in the past....who knows for sure.

Some people project their hate, anger etc on other people especially to people they don’t know as in online poker. Often times when I see this sort of behaviour, I just feel sad for them momentarily and then I just move along because they mean nothing to me. Those are the sorts of people I want nothing to do with in real life let alone while playing poker. People that just try to drag you down with them.

Surround yourself with people who project love, kindness, and gratitude and leave the rest behind in your dust.

While we can’t control who we surround ourselves with while we play poker we can choose to just ignore their meaningless comments. Continue to be the best version of yourself and for yourself.....just walk away with your positive thoughts . From your statement above you already know, believe and are doing this anyhow. Good for you and your strong character .

Plenty of this going on recently and name calling. The level of people can't be truly measured on online poker...
