I play in the .60 cent sngs(9 man ,pays top 3) at merge to clear freeroll winnings, because you get 1 vip point for .60. Normally I play one sng at a time. My norm is a slight loss because of the .10 rake.
I needed 50 more points yesterday to clear a 50 $ freeroll winning, so I started playing 4 games at a time until I reached 50 games, I spent 30$ but I made a profit of 4$. This is a pretty good roi. my only explanation is as follows.
1.I was playing a lot more hands than usual
2. I was getting very good cards and got a lot of suckouts. Maybe merge gives you better cards for playing more games at once? lol
3. I was in a reactive mode with a lot less time to think,I know I folded less than usual. I never went on tilt because the purpose was to get the points.
4. Playing the same type of game , maybe. is less confusing to me
I really dont know the answer, maybe you have an idea

1.) Usually if one is playing more tables than they normally play, they'll be playing tighter (which is often the way to go for STT-SNG games)

2.)

3.) STT-SNG play doesn't typically require much thinking (once one is familiar with the game). Not sure what you mean by 'reactive mode'?

4.) Playing the same format of game is HIGHLY recommended for players hoping to improve upon their game (ie. stick with one game for awhile til' you know it inside & out). Mixing different games &/or different formats isn't advisable unless you're an experienced player (imo)

Congrats on turning a profit while clearning your freeroll winnings!

Reactive mode- being an ex golfer who had a plus 2 handicap the last 2 yrs I could play 1995-97, because of deteriorating spine(lost 2 inches in height, was 6'4 now 6'2) reactive mode is when you dont think ,you simply react ,which all the best golfers do. Simply put, no time to worry ,not afraid of winning or losing ,just reacting to the cards and bets. All good sports professionals in football ,baseball ,basketball etc. play in the zone when they dont think ,they are in awarness mode or reactive mode. I actually have felt that a few times in poker, but not often,my problem is overthinking and looking at the negative possibilities. A lot of times I have different types of freerolls going and maybe 1 or 2 money mtts and I have to play them differently. I was playing just those 4 games except a few freerolls and those I went allin got chips and sat out mostly or went bust so I could tackle the matter at hand. Ty for replies

difference is you need to to master the basics through volume for this to apply, much the same that you wont think about your back swing is automatic, you wont need to think deeply about you opening or bet sizing as it will come through repetition and study and you can focus on more advanced aspects of hands.
however it will definitely come naturally
this game is a thinking game
