Do yourself a favor this year.
GET A FLU SHOT.
It's good advice. I think some university did a study a year or two ago about the amount of bacteria that is on poker chips. Anyone who has ever played at the Taj in AC, knows you want to dip your hands in bleach after playing there with their chips.
But I think ultimately, there is no more or less chance of getting sick from playing poker than there is typing on a public keyboard. When you are around others who are sick, it is more likely you'll pick up what they have.
If you are playing at a table where someone is coughing away, you'll have to weight getting up and leaving vs. staying and maybe making some money but possibily getting sick.
