It's of my opinion that a second poker boom, or maybe "poker revolution" is a name that best fits it is coming.

The reasons I think this are the legalization of online poker in 3 states and its spreading with 2 bills in California and Pennsylvania looking at the subject. There's also been an interstate compact between NV and DE.

Other things that lead me to this conclusion are things like the $10 million dollar guarantee for the wsop main event winner which will bring in more players and FTP payments being made to US players. It seems like everyday a new site is going online.

In general I'd say the poker industry is on the up. What are your opinions?

I agree, going by the recent positive things I am seeing happening in poker will most likely give it a second push but I do not think it will become as popular as it once was, maybe close, but not really.

The industry is def on the up.

The reasons you listed are def positive enough reasons to think we are headed back to where we were a few years ago. As a lot of people said a few years ago, it can only go up from here :icon_thum

I am getting the same feeling that things are going to turn around in 2014. And, the nightmare of "Black Friday" will be over.

I think things are looking MUCH brighter for U.S. players compared to how it has been these last couple of years.. but big picture... I have questions/concerns.

First, the U.S. sites that are popping up are isolated state by state. This does nothing really for International player pools. So I don't see really how any community gains too much. Other than the players in theses individual states finally having a "legitimate" site to deposit/withdraw funds.

Even though you are correct and it is like this now, I strongly believe it will get better, for example Nevada and Delaware I believe just joined player pools. Its a small but big step.

I hope so, but I don't believe it will happen any time soon.

I think maybe a little hope is there. I just don't see it happening in the near future, I'm speaking of online poker being open for us to play against other players from the rest of the world. I think most states will wait years to see how it works out for other states. Kind of like the legalization of pot in Colorado. Just my thoughts.

When I think of how long Texas may have to wait, I'm reminded of this sign on I10 entering Texas from Louisiana:

Unfortunately I have to agree with this. Eventually I see legal online poker opening up for most (probably not all) states in the US but I see them as being US only poker sites... I feel the days of us legally sitting in at pokerstars are far off.

I know how you feel I'm in Kentucky so the same political bull is going to hold us up as well.

I believe that as internet poker becomes legal in each state, the poker boom will increase

Until we the people vote out all these dated politicians nothing is going to change. Things as a matter of fact are going to get worse.
