I have been reading a bunch of blogs and decided to try a personal quest to see if I can reach 5k from playing poker online. I am not going to set a date to have it done by because i want to focus on playing solid poker instead of trying to make things happen to reach a deadline I set. I have been grinding .01/.02 nl 6max for about 2 weeks. I have build my bankroll to $45.00. I have a blog on my bankroll management. I am going to follow my bankroll management very strictly. I will post graphs on Sunday night to show my progress. Also I will mainly play nl 6 max with a few tourneys here and there. Here is what my graph looks like so far.

I have enough to start to play .02/.05 nl 6 max. This is my graph for only .01/.02 nl 6 max for the last 2 weeks.

nice graph and good luck to you.
Just a question supose you have won up to 500 dollars and one guy in front of you with JJ goes all in with his 600 dollars and you have AA.
Of course you call and a terrible thing happens he gets another J and you loose all your money after months (maybe longer) of hard work. Will you still have the same motivation as before???
Of course people will say thats poker, can happen (thats why i prefer tourn instead of cashgames because in the last one i only lost money)

but good luck anyways

That wouldn't happen though if he was using bankroll management.
Variance applies in tournaments just as much a cash games. As long as you are rolled for the level you are playing, and of course you are a winning player, then all is good.

I have set a bankroll management where if at any given table i am running hot or happen to be winning a lot when the money at my table reaches 10-15% of my total bankroll. I will finish the hands through the blinds and leave the table.

dont take all your money to one table and that is impossible to happen,
if someone goes all in with any hand and you have AA than you are almost obligated to call. less you dont like being a favorite to win a hand.

nice graphs and BRM so far though, best of luck

Good luck, keep us posted on how you're doing. I always love following peoples poker journeys. I'm actually going to start blogging about my own experience as a micro grinder soon. Let me know via pm if you'd be interested in talking on aim sometime.

Good goal. I think it takes few years of life :) Are you sure you want to spend it for poker? If you do, good luck!

Hey man, congrats on winning that 90 person SNG. Those are always a good BR booster when you can take them down.

Good luck, i've been developing my game and bankroll recently, and i'm about $80 up in cash, however I have a little addiction to tourneys and i've been running really bad recently. It seems to be turning around though and a $20 cash recently has helped. I'm now around $60 and fairly deep in another tourney right now.
May both of have luck and maybe one day we can both reach 5k, and more :)
