A golden opportunity ruined!
You know how players take turns dealing the cards when the are on the button. Occassionally, a card flips over face up when the hole cards are dealt. Usually when this happens in my weekly tournament, it is left face up and that would be the kill card so when the flop comes the dealer just starts with the first card on top of the deck.
This was this one time where I was at the table and there was this one player who struggled with the game, porbably still learning. Usually we are patient with these type of players but at this particular hand, we got really frustrated. This player was the dealer and as she was dealing the cards one accidentally went face up. We explained to her that when it was time to do the flop, you just flip the first three cards without killing a card. Apparently, she wasn't listening fully becuase immediately after we explained this, she flipped three cards over. Players were still making bets preflop and almost everyone yelled "No!" The flop was:
. He would've had trip aces. We had to do a redeal. I'm surprised he was calm about it even though you could tell he was upset. One player said that is that was his hand he would have ringed her neck. That is a bit harsh. After all, she is still learning. Still, that sucked.
