A,A,A,A,6,5,4 versus 2,2,2,2,6,5,4

Thus the best hands capable were 6-5-4-2-2 and 6-5-4-A-A

Which is the better hand, the pair of deuces or the pair of aces?

This was a home game 7 Stud Low (Razz).

Since neither player has 5 unmatched cards, then it's the lowest pair. Aces are lower than 2s (in this game). So the AA wins.

That was a crazy hand.

And, oddly, a royal flush would have won against both. :) (Straights and flushes don't matter in Razz.)

I could be wrong, but while individual aces are low in razz I'm pretty sure a PAIR of aces is still high. So the 22 hand should be lower and therefore win.

Sorry, seems I am wrong: aces are the lowest pair.
