Hey Everyone,

It seems the more we play the game the more you develop a 6th Sense for it...

Predicting what cards that will come out...
What other players are holding...
and even Predict your own faith...

some of us are really good at doing that in live games... but the majority see this online... after all you play a lot more hands online.

What Are Some Moments You Have Used Your 6th Sense?
Show us some picks, or tell us about the hand...

There is no such thing as a sixth sense just selective memory.

I get a feeling sometimes about playing an odd hand & will usually win with it. I have no explanation for it though.:DI'm often asked why I played such a hand & I usually say "I just had a good feeling about it"!:D:D:DThis is only online, since I have yet to play live!:D

Call the experience what you wish. The sum of your experience will allow you to thin-slice an event an make decisions on very little data.

Funny, my "feelings" usually go the other way - something just doesn't seem right and I fold, they show, and it's something that had me crushed. However, I think it's more along the lines of what Marginal is suggesting - after seeing so many hands and so many situations you know when something isn't right, so it's probably not instinct, more like subconscious recognition due to repetition.

Hey Everyone,

and even Predict your own faith...

My level of faith at any given moment is impossible to predict, being that, it depends on random factors like: how much I've had to drink or how much trouble I'm in.

I think what this thread is about is what Doyle calls "recall." Instinct can be a helpful tool on tough decisions. Even if your instinct is wrong this time, you learn how much you can trust your instincts now, and your instincts can improve with each success as well as every failure.

Hey Everyone,

It seems the more we play the game the more you develop a 6th Sense for it...

Predicting what cards that will come out... You are not able to predict what cards are going to come, you just know what cards would change the board texture or your hand and tend to be thinking of those cards during a hand.
What other players are holding... Putting people on ranges is the basis of poker, so yes its fair to say the more you play the better at this you would expect to get.
and even Predict your own faith... You mean playing cards allows you to figure out if you are a Christian or a Muslim??????

some of us are really good at doing that in live games... but the majority see this online... after all you play a lot more hands online.

What Are Some Moments You Have Used Your 6th Sense?
Show us some picks, or tell us about the hand...

So...You mean like the time I had a flush draw and I just new that if a flush card came I would be in good shape. As my opponent kept betting and there was an ace on the board I just knew he had a big ace. When the flush hit I realise that there was a God because prior to me hitting I kept saying "Please God, Please"?

At my live game whenever I was all in ahead id announce runner-runner and it seemed to come true most of the time. My table mates remarked on my clairvoyance and advised I stopped doing it but I still do it in my head.

Im not superstitious in way shape or form so I was irritated more than anything.

I do believe in some form of an extra sense when I'm playing poker. Everytime I got my opponent crushed to a 2 outer and he hits it the thought of him hitting it runs thru my head right before it happens. I should really start thinking that my hand will improve rather than my opponents....
