I'd buy-in for the max allowed, usually for a 5/5 game it will be $1000-$2000 and then I'd buy $200 in green to have in my pocket to top-up if/when needed.

you play very large sums of money. If you don’t have money problems in your family, why play poker? I personally would not play with that kind of money.

Usually in a casino the max buy in is 200-300BB, some allow you to buy in to largest stack at table. So probably the normal would be $1,000 to $1,500. You would normally want to start with a deeper stack as it will allow more play ability with spec type hands.

It depends on the casino

Some it will be $500

Most will be $1000

Some will be $1500

and occasionally you will find games that are uncapped and allow you to sit with any amount.

Easiest thing to do is call the cardroom to ask them what the 'max buyin' is or check the 'bravo App' which often has this information readily available.
