It was bizarre. I was scoping out the new penny tables when I saw this player with $1k on the table. The maximum buy-in was $4. I was pretty much flabbergasted.

I just watched as they toyed with a guy and his last 50c, like a cat playing with a mouse. Poor thing was just stuck there. It was tough to feel his pain though. After all, he chose to sit with the tiniest of stacks HE against, well stack hardly describes it. He was up against a mountain of money. On top of that he didn't seem to grasp the concept of HE in the slightest.

The player with $1k doesn't have many tournaments in their sharkscope(also I'm not sure if sharkscope even tracks PLO or ring games). It's just a slow and jagged start with a huge vertical leap. Now they've only played 73 tournaments/games according to the scope, but $4 at the most up to $1k has me believing it can't be a fluke. They're patient as all get out to stay and focus for that many hours(if they're even human). Plus, I mean $1k?

Now I'm wondering if it's someone playing incognito. I've just never seen anything like it. You can't get that much from pure aggression, though many try and fail. Nah, it's gotta be much, much, more.

Well sharkscope stats can get reset. I seriously doubt Gus Hansen has played only 41 hands in his full tilt lifetime, lol. My guess is that the guy had a serious bankroll, came in there to gamble, just kept pushing until his stack was big enough to where he could play any hand, attract people who think they can play tight against him and take a chunk of his stack, then lose (we all know the big swings in omaha, any 4 cards are good), and just waited for small stacks to come by. Not too bad of a strategy though. It definitely requires some gambling in the beginning, and patience. I wouldn't do it if you're not going to be playing poker all day. I think most rooms boot you if you sit out for too long.

I'm pretty sure at limit games I saw somone with 50k sit down at a 25c/50c table because I dont think there is a maximum buy in due to the fact that the bets stop at a certain point anyways. Although PLO I'm not sure.

the most outrageous thing (sry to somewhat hijack) was i saw some pro (forgot who it was exactly. it wasn't your usual big name pro but it was a red pro on tilt) with like just under $1million on a table. it was gross. i kept watching to see if he would reach 1 mill, but i don't think he did (at least not while i was watching, it was in the wee hours in the morning so i ended up going to bed before the game ended). it was sick.

but yeah, idk what the deal was. it was a pretty rare occurance for sure since it was a PLO game and not a limit game. bizarre is right.

Hmmm, that's really interesting. I've seen people on Stars on .01/.02 PLO tables where the max buy in is $5 have about $25, which isn't totally unobtainable, but it would require you to be there for at least alittle while. $1K seems weird though. Maybe he and a friend were dumping money there earlier in the day or something. Or maybe he never logs off?

As for people sitting with big stacks at small tables...I had Urindanger (one of the nose bleed players who play against Durrrr and Hansen) sit next to me at low limit Razz before...

Oops it was a capped PLO game and it turns out $1k's the max there while $4 is the max in regular PLO games. Sorry. Of course now I'm wondering why take so much. Rather like taking a bazooka to a knife fight if u ask me. But of course I'm no expert.
