$30 on stars...plan?

I will deposit around $30 on stars tomorrow..
But I got absolutely no idea what I should play with that amount..
I planned to play on the 1/2 cent NL tables with $1 buy in each time,and leave when I doubled up.
I also will play $1.20 9 mans...
And also fixed limit $0.05/$0.10 cashgame..
Does that sound good?

You're going to be playing a little short, in my opinion, especially if reloading won't be an option.

You really need more like $50 if you are buying in to the .01/.02 NL games for $2, and $100 if you are buying in full ($5).

For .05/.10 fixed limit, again $50 would be a better starting bankroll.

The $1 SNGs are really the only thing you have the bankroll for with $30, and you need to expect to be at that buy-in for a while. Moving up in limits shouldn't happen until you have at least $100 (for either the $5 regular or the $3 turbos).

I know some people would disagree, but I think if you're not buying in for the max, you're leaving money on the table. Short-buy tactics can work, if played correctly, but I see so few people playing them correctly. Mostly, I just see the shortstacks getting wiped over and over again.

I would agree, although as long as you have enough to cover everyone at your table, you are essentially buying in for the max. There is some value to limiting your losses when first starting out, but for maximum profit, you want to have the biggest stack at the table.

The PS .01/.02 NL is bad anyway, because the max buy-in is over-inflated vs. the size of the blinds.

i have good luck with the 2.20 buy in for the sunday hundred grand..it gives you a 11.00 entry. that you can unregister and use in any other tourney or sit and go. i'm in one right now. there is 191 people and pays 34 spots.. for every 11.00 dollaes there is a ticket

I wouldn't recommend that for someone with only $30 in their bankroll though

Off-topic, but if you place in 2 of these without unregistering, do they automatically give you the T$ the second time?

i'm not sure i always go to requests then registered in tournaments then unregister this is a good way to build up your bankroll because youdon't have to finish top few spots to win money

It's the $2 satellites not the $10 Hundred Grand he's talking about. I've played in 4 (I think) and cashed in 3. I'd recommend them as a bankroll builder, you just have to sit tight early on, there's a whole heap of dead money in there.

But... even with the dead money in there, I don't agree that 13 buy-ins is deep enough to cover MTT variance, even for a satellite like this.

If I am reading this correctly you plan to buy in for $1 and leave when you get to $2? Sounds like one hand per table

Yeah, maybe you are right, but I would suggest that anyone that fails to qualify in 13 straight of these probably is going to lose their bankroll sooner or later anyway (probably sooner). I'd prefer these to the $1 SnG's as (from memory) they are $2.20 whilst the SnGs are $1.20. The extra 100% fee is an issue if you play loads and have got a small bankroll.

Play the $1.10 turbo 45 player SnGs. Sit tight, play premium hands hard and you'll do great.
