Playing on Titan where it's actually 4Nl for some reason, the maximum for both games is $5. If I remember correctly it's $10 on stars.

My question is, if the max buy-in is the same for both, doesn't it make sense to play 4NL with $5 rather than 2NL with $5. Or is it better to sit at the 2NL with $2 even when people are sitting down with more.

This is obviously if you don't have the bankroll for 4/5NL.

Stars has .02/.05 and .05/.10 tables with a max buy-in of $10.

There's little difference between the two imo except for the fact that play is a tiny bit better and everyone isn't shoving as often and as loose. Don't get me wrong, they're definitely loose everywhere in the micros, but you'll see what I mean after playing a bit.

I assume the blinds are different for the two levels at titan.
In the case of stars, you'll find that buying in min at either is probably not the best idea. Put a buck or two on top of the min imo, or you'll be crushed by people who buy-in for max. If you have a small BR, don't risk it at those limits and consider going down to the .01/.02 tables (if they have them).

The bigger blinds also affects players. You'll be able to tell that if you sit down with one or two short-stacks whether or not they're folding or calling stations and you can take advantage of it.

I guess the point here is if you are going to sit down at a table, make sure you sit down with the maximum amount allowed. From there, choose the blind structure that best fits your bankroll. Like wsorbust said, either way the small tables are loose.

I tend to sit at the 4NL with the full $5 even though it is technically above my bankroll, but I don't see the point of sitting at 2NL if i'm sitting down with the same stack size. What i'm asking is this wrong?
