From 18 to 29 July 2018, the international poker scene meets in Casino Velden and fights for four European championship titles. With more than 1,500 participants and their escorts, the mega event brings around 2 million euros to the region.
For the fourth time now, the Poker European Championship at Casino Velden will be the stage for a superlative event in the Wörthersee region. More than 1,500 poker players from over 35 nations will come to the Casino Velden and play in a total of 21 tournaments for an expected prize money of more than 3 million euros.
The popularity of the event is also noticed by the local tourism. Because many poker players are accompanied by family and friends who combine the Poker EM with a short break. More than 7,500 additional nights are recorded around the spectacle in the region. At this year's event, guests will again have enough time to enjoy the special flair of the region away from the poker tables.
But the location of the Casino Velden in the Bay of Velden offers the perfect conditions: The lake invites you to swim, the in-house motorboat is available for guests to explore for free. The nightlife on the Casinoplatz, the excellent gastronomy with two Gault & Millau toques, and last but not least the professionalism of the on-site team, make the stay an unforgettable experience for the guests.
