Ok, after a very disappointing few weeks without internet access I FINALLY got back onto Full Tilt this week. Its been just short of a month so I guess I should have eased myself back in gently, but Nooooo. I spotted the new shiny matrix games at the $26 level. Very interesting.
Now these things were my fave at the $2 and $6 level not long ago, and I made quite a bit of cash out of them (until deciding to go back to the higher risk/reward system of just playing 2-4 standard SnG tables). The play at $2 was pretty soft as you'd expect. $6 stepped up slightly, but not to the point that they weren't profitable to play out of BR (hey, its only like 4x $1.50 table right?).
So I sat down quite confidently at the $26 game using a token to buy in (hoping that a couple of other lower stakes players were doing the same) and was AMAZED! The players (ALL the players) at the tables were IDIOTS! I cashed in 2 of the games, but was crushed out of the others with total rags! These guys were playing pretty much every hand regardless of raises, or position, or stacks, or...well, anything!
On each of the 4 tables there were all-in's on the first hand, and within the first blind level 3 of the 4 tables were down to 6 players.
Now I may have missed a page here, but I thought that the general consensus was that playing a tight game and trying to top-3 every table was key to these games? Not shoving every hand hoping desperately to bag a KO and 2 points on the table. The 'league' board is pretty much a bonus for the players who go deep, and (in my opinion) a distraction from playing a solid game.
I played 2 of these games yesterday, and broke less than even, but I will DEFINITELY be back on them. I'm thinking of doing a marathon session and using all my tokens!
A nice TAG game, steering clear of confrontations (just letting the donks KO each other) should see these become the new favourite!

Well Matrix tourneys are a whole nother monster, be verrryyy careful while playing those because honestly you never know what your gonna get... However it is a good way to manage bankroll being as they cut 4 tables and the top points get money too, so you wont necessarily be SOL per se if you play a one table SNG.
