All depends on what level you're comfortable/good at. You have 20 buy-ins for 10nl (cash games), where the play is hardly good. Take your shot and build from there. If you're a sng or tourney player, I can't help you since I don't play much of those.

With that bankroll I wouldn't be too aggresive too fast! Start with games where you have invested $5 or less and see how things go. Move up as your bankroll increases, but never risk more than 5% of your bankroll at a time.

Here's an article on Bankroll management.

BRM Article

That should get your started. As far as how much you can make, that depends on how hard your willing to study and learn the game. Most people dont profit from poker, but your already a step ahead of the competition for coming to a forum to increase your knowledge.

Good luck!

agree with the majority, i'd would see how you play at them limits then move down if your not winning. i would highly suggest to read the thread about bankroll management that someone posted. this is what makes solid poker players winners and prevents other solid players from winning when you don't follow the guidelines.

Well with 200 dollars, you can make millions if your good enough :).
But i mean at 200, u wanna play at the small stacks. It also depends
what variation of poker you'r playing. If your talking about texas holdem
which i believe you are, then you wanna play in cash games in which you
have 20 - 25 buyins... maybe even 30. Anyway, you could go to a table
with a max buyin of 10 dollars, no worries, and keep going up as your
stack goes up. Thats basically all you need to know... :D

Sit and goes and tournies BTW are basically the same thing. You go with
in a tourney you already have 20 buyins for, and you'r set for life :).
Go in the 10 dollar ones In full tilt... if it is your playin full tilt. Some
people might consider tournies to be better than cash since you don't
have as much rake. Rake is the money the site takes itself. In a tourny
the rake is taken from the beginning, however in a cash game the Rake
is contiously being taken away, and could take a huge amount of money
if you play as long as you would for a tournament :S.

I recommend that you start with the minimum deposit required by the site. You might find you do not care for the games and your expended amount would be minimal. Increase when/if your comfort level increases.
