2 poker newb betting questions

hey all im a little new to the betting round

this is for NL holdem.(excuse my bad grammer plz)


1.lets say Sb was 10 and BB was 20

I raise to 50..

Now will the mIn raise be 80???






2.SB-10 and BB is 20


so am i right??

for the Blind round..(If noone has bet yet)!

so you can call 20..

Or raise TO 40. but 40 is the minumum anyone can raise to.( it cannot be below 40)

Is this right?? for both or just 1.

No, that's not right.
1) BB = 20 therefore min raise is 20. You raised 30 to make it 50 to call. A min reraise would make it 50 + 20 = 70 to call. Of course, after that round of betting the min raise would once again be 20.
2) You got that right, of course you can go all in with less, but strangely enough, that isnt considered a raise.

most casinos have a double bet requirement.
pokerplayer100 raised a 10/20 game to 50. this is a raise of 30 chips. the next person would usually have to make it 80 chips to play. doubling the pokerplay100's bet
2) unless the person is all-in for 30 in the second question the minimum raise is to 40.

the 80 is 70 dude

Cheers for all the replies team. I've just finished my university exams that's why I haven't been active. I tried a western union transfer but they tried to charge me 100 dollars for a 50 dollar deposit. I'm not that rich.

I'll just have to wait until I can find someone who will let me use a credit card I suppose. All been very helpful though!
